Reliable but one significant editing problem
I have 4 Toshiba DVD recorders of various models. All work reliably and I am happy with them. Editing is not super easy, but I don't do much & it mostly works. BUT one important editing feature does not on the 2 I tested. On DVD+R disks, it is possible to add chapter marks manually. This would allow skipping ahead to selected spots, like after the credits, to the next song, or after ads. These chapters are NOT visible on any machine but another Toshiba.

Toshiba Dud
The product did not record like it was supposed to. Also, after a couple hours of use, the machine started turning itself off within seconds of turning it on. I called for tech support and was told to ship it back, which I did at my own expense. I have not received a replacement nor have I received reimbursement.

Toshiba DVR670 DVD/VHS is a great product
If you have DVDs and VHS tapes and don't want to spend money re-buying your favorite movies this is the perfect product to purchase. I highly recommend this product to all movie buffs.

Toshiba DVR670 DVD/VHS Recorder with Built in Tuner, Black
Well, once I figured out how to set everything up, a few weeks later I came to use the DVR to watch a DVD and there was no sound! I called the manufacturer and they said that some times when the DVR isn't used on a consistent basis, it needs to be unplugged and replugged to reset itself. Sure enough that took care of the problem. However, it is a little annoying to have to do something as silly as that for something you paid good money for. Not sure if mine is just a lemon or if this is a consitent problem with the device.

Great Quality DVD Recordings!
I highly recommend this DVD/VCR recorder. The recorded shows on DVD have great quality. Far better than a VCR. Did my first VCR tape to DVD conversion today and the quality was great. It can't improve a bad VCR recording, but it can match it. and it was very easy. One button dubbing. I haven't used the built in tuner because I have cable so don't really need it. but i like the versatility of having it if I need it.
