Blueray, well worth it.
Bought it from MacMall.com for under 200 bucks. I was upgrading my home theater system from my speakers to receiver to my DVD player. The biggest advantage I noticed was the immense surround sound that comes out. Picture is also improved, specially the blacks. The colors are deep too. Although I don't have 1080p TV to utilize the full potential. The upconversion on the DVDs also has picture improvements. Still the sound improvements are great. Minor things to notice are - The USB port is on the back which is very difficult to access once you setup your home theater. No mp3 capabilities but that does not matter to me because I have all my music on computer connected to the receiver. Who wants to swap CDs anyway? BD Player is a little sluggish in its response also. May be that is the case with all this new technology. Overall, I am satisfied with the product. Sony seldom brings something that is best in terms of value for money. But this one sure is.

BD-Live Functionality Disappointing
I purchased the player a few months ago with the understanding that Sony would release a software upgrade that would support DB-Live. The upgrade was recently released and the player now supports DB-Live, but the functionality provided in the upgrade is ....in two words "very limited". Unfortunately, it falls far short of the functionality offered by competitors comparably priced players.
Specifically, the unit will not support streaming video offered by popular on-line movie servers. If this is an important functionality to you, you might want to consider other BD players. This is unfortunate because otherwise the player seems to function satisfactorily.

Blu-Ray
I didn't think there would be much differance but not only are the Blu ray movies beautiful, it makes our standard dvds look great as well. It's like being right at a theatre.

Good Blu-ray Player but slow start-up and skipping feature
This player is a good stand-alone player and it makes my existing DVD movies look very sharp and clear. The one complaint is that it takes a long time to start-up and when skipping chapters, it is very very slow.

You will need to update this player firmware to be BD-Live by getting the update from [...]

Because I don't play games, therefore, I purchased this player, but I should have purchase the PS3 instead.

Outstanding BDP
Just bought this BD player yesterday at Sears for $249.50, I noticed that my Blu-ray library is growing, since my living room is my room I decided to get a standalone player, the PS3 tends to warm up small places, so was time to let my PS3 be for games only. Setup was easy, just plugged the power cord and HDMI, then I chose the output(1080p) and turned on the Bravia Sync(in case if you own the tv that supports) and I was ready to go.
My first movie was Shrek the third, I was amazed by the details. If you looking for a standalone BDP you couldn't go wrong with this Sony BDP-S350, keep in mind that HDMI cable is a must if you really want take advantages of this BD player.
