User Submitted Sony Bravia Z-Series KDL-46Z4100/S 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Silver Reviews Date: 2009-01-06 Love it so far... After much research and following the prices, I finally pulled the trigger on the Sony 46inch Z. The price around Black Friday time was outstanding and though I had planned to get the W, the price made the Z version the way to go. It's great looking and the few HD channels I receive right now are terrific. I'm upgrading my cable soon so I can get all the HD Channels. Football games look amazing! It's hard to watch the other "regular" tv's now. I thought this would be too big for the room...but you get used it pretty quickly and now anything else just looks silly. Delivery was FAST and set up easy. I'll be looking to get more of these Sony flat screens for other rooms in the future and Amazon will be the place I look to first. Date: 2009-01-06 The Best for Less I bought a 46 inch LCD Sony Bravia 46Z model for much less than I could anywhere else and I am really happy with the performance and quality of the set. The delivery was on time and the personnel who delivered the set were first class in placing into my TV center. They turned it on and made sure it worked, and asked if they would like them to set it up also. I will not hesitate to recommend Amazon for any product you sell. My experience with you is AAAA, keep giving the "Best for Less". Date: 2009-01-06 The Sony name has disapointed I used to think Sony was a name I could trust... as if they were the Honda of TV's. But I am rethinking that. First off, don't buy a TV through the mail. We bought ours directly from Sony. It arrived in good time. However after a few hours of watching it, the left half of the screen started to flicker. Soon after it got worse then it was nothing but colorful, vertical solid lines. After being passed around several times by Sony's customer service (none of whom speaks clear english), they finally told me to call a repair guy. I did, and took time off work to meet him. He told me that they needed to order a new 'panel' and that it will take one month for it to arrive. He also told me that the part may or may not fix the problem, and that the he will need my assistance installing it. At that point I said forget it, I am not taking off work again for something that may or may not work. Especially since this was a brand new TV, I expected a replacement TV. Again after over an hour of trying to get a hold of the right customer service rep, they told me I can return the TV, but Sony refused to ship out a replacement. Mind you, they do not package these TV's in a normal box, but a couple of layers of cardboard that needs to be binded (strapped) together. I did not have a binder or straps, so I used rolls of wire and duct tape from the garage. To make things worse, we got the sony credit card to get free interest. This was a mistake because it takes 30-90 days to process the return. So Sony has their TV back, but it is "in process" for a credit. We spoke with the sony credit card people and they said that we still have to make the payments if the return is not credited to our account. She said that once the return is credited then they will refund our money. As this is my first HD TV, I can only assume this process would be easier if I had bought from the store. You can return it to the store... right? Sure, you may save a few hundred dollars buying online... but trust me... don't take the risk. There is too much technology involved and there is a greater risk of something going wrong. I don't want to be disappointed with Sony, but I am. Date: 2009-01-06 Sony Bravia Z Series KDL-46Z4100/B 46 inch 1080p 120 Hz Jan 6, 2009 - The Sony LCD-TV meets all of our expectations and performance requirements. The only unhappy experience is obtaining a HD channel. DVD's and digital camera shots are awesome. However, if you don't live in a big city, the over-the-air channels are limited. Other than PBS and NFL football games, cable/satellite companies charge an exorbitant amount for the very, very few channels that broadcast in HD. Knowing this now, I would have waited 6 months to see what is offered compared to now. Date: 2009-01-03 Best Picture for the Money I went with the Sony Bravia based on recommendations from friends and family who owned them. I decided on the 46 in. Z-series based on the 120 HZ refresh and 24p true color. Having owned it for two months, I am extremely happy with my decision. The picture is amazing, and after comparing to my friend's 52 in. W-series, I can tell a difference in picture quality with the Z-series true color. I also like the slim LCD frame and 3 in. depth. The only difficulty I encountered was four rows of multi-colored pixels that showed up the day after it was delivered. After talking to Sony, we decided that it was a processor issue and they recommended returning it (I found out later that the Sony website has software updates to correct this). Due to Amazon's awesome return policy they delivered a new one within two weeks and picked up the old one upon delivery. No hassles-no questions asked and I was never without a TV. Note that the Amazon electronics return policy is only good for 30 days and Amazon won't budge on this. After that, the Sony warranty kicks in. Amazon direct may cost a little more but in my book it was worth the extra money.
