Awesome TV!
I love this TV. The picture is very clear and bright. I did a lot of research and was deciding between this, Vizio, and Samsung. Vizio is cheaper but can have some reliability issues. The Samsungs have better contrast ratio, but only because the blacks look a little blacker which is barely noticeable unless you compare side by side in the store. The whites and colors looked equally bright on the Sony and Samsung. Since the Sony was a lower price, I went with it and couldn't be happier. It's got a nice design and I like the matte black finish. I think the gloss black of other TVs looks a bit cheap and is distracting in my opinion. I think the sound is very good. Obviously it won't have 5.1 surround sound coming from 2 speakers, but it's very adequate and never sounds tinny to me. Also it's great that it can double as a computer monitor. I haven't tried this out yet, but it's a great feature just in case you need it. The positive reviews on this one are right on. Buy it and you'll be a happy customer like me!

Comparing the M series to the L series
I'll try to be succinct as possible, but I thought it might be helpful to compare the L and M series Sony Bravia televisions currently on the market, as they are similarly priced, and people may be wondering what differences are any may be worth the price or size difference/sacrifice.

I recently "tried" both the M series 26" Bravia and the L series 32", and ultimately chose to keep the L series. (Both were basically the same price.)

To make a long story short, the M series is a step up. There is a better control over picture display, display options, as well as a lot of convenient features like "live color" (I believe that's what it's called) which automatically adjusts colors to make flesh tones appear more accurate, and some kind of "smart sound" feature (which I'm not sure Sony's name for) which adjusts the level of the volume so commercials don't blast when you're watching a tv show--which is particularly helpful if you're an insomniac like me and other people are sleeping. It also has an ambient light sensor for the backlight, which is truly missed now that I have the L series. The sound is superior on the M series as well. The menus and layout are just better, on the M series. The L series it should be noted does not have a headphone jack--something most people don't use, but if you watch tv late at night or use speakers that utilize the RCA to miniplug (head phone jack) you are out of luck. (Though there is audio input for external RCA connected speakers.)

The L series seems to be calibrated differently visually and otherwise, but with some fiddling around I was able to get an accurate image (colors, sharpness, etc.) (For instance, I generally prefer warm on color temperature settings, but on the L series, it's too warm, so I go with neutral and adjust the hue manually.

I don't have the technical details for both tvs, but I do know they are both 720p and will output from inputs (like hdmi blu-ray players, etc.) in 1080i. response time, contrast ration, etc. seem to be comparable, though I don't have the exact technical specifications.

the other main difference is cosmetic, the M series is a piano black finish (popular nowadays) and the L series is a matte finish (which I personally prefer) and it should be noted that they space at the bottom as in the picture of the L series is indeed transluscent and that is also where you're indicator lights are.

these are just a few of my observations from trying both models out. ultimately, the M series is a step up and it's if it's similar in price, you may want to consider it. But if you prefer the larger screen size at a cheaper price (though prices fluctuate) and the matte finish of the exterior of the tv, i would say go with the L series.

I give the L series four stars, and the M series 5 stars, but they are both excellent choices.

Excellent Quality for a Great Price!!!!
I bought this TV during Black Friday for my girlfriend from TigerDirect through Amazon. Let me just say I have yet to find anyone match the price I paid for this Sony 32" LCD TV. This includes online stores and the retail stores including a Sony Outlet. The picture is crisp and setup was literally less than 7 minutes. In no time I was receiving amazing pictures from my satellite receiver. I can't wait to hook up my Blu-Ray DVD player. For the price you can't get a better quality HDTV and hey....It's a SONY!!!!!

WOW!
My first HDTV! I waited until the prices came down to earth and this Sony was more than reasonable in the price. The picture with widescreen HD content is unreal--saw National Geographic HD show was blown away! This is one tv with style--has a clear glass panel with the indicator lights "floating" in it! I do not know how Sony did this? It is much better looking than the Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-32M4000! Standard def content is okay--but that is not the TV fault. One should really opt for a HDTV cable box or you can use the "QAM" tuner which picks up Hi-Def signals right from the cable feed! Hi-def content will amaze you!

The viewing angle is is indeed 178 degrees--only issue might be the picture is somewhat washed out from the side--but still watchable! This size "32" is the prefect all-around size--can be used as a small main tv and what a bedroom TV! This Sony is replacing a trusty Sony 27 inch Trintron and this tv screen is like a movie screen by comparison! Bravo Sony!

Great
I really lucked out, I got this TV at the LOW price of $495.00 at 1 A.M. on black Friday. I don't know if that's the reason for the price drop but this is the lowest price I have ever seen this TV around. Bestbuy is selling this TV for about $700.00. The TV came quick only took a week. Free shipping ( can't go wrong with that ) This is a great TV for a smaller room. It's also a great starter TV. In my opinion I think the 720p is not bad, I don't have HD yet and the picture is still nice. The sound is not bad either I know some people are weird about TV and the sound quality, this sound is shockingly good and it works for me. Later I will be getting a sound system and what not, but I am in no rush. I will make sure to post an update when I get HD, and what not as well as a PS3. This is also a great TV because of all the components on the back. I hooked my Macbook to this TV and got a Wireless Keyboard & Mouse and it's a NICE size, w/ great color and picture quality. I wish it had 4 HDMI connectors on the back, maybe even three would have been nice but 4 would have been a lot better. It's annoying to have to switch out cables for HD HDBox, PS3, Apple TV all require the HDMI connectors on the back. Oh well.... I still love my TV :)
