Date: 2008-09-19 Great Buy! This is the first review I've ever written. This player is THE best DVD player I have ever owned. The audio output on the player is fantastic. Never heard my surround set-up work so well. It even plays DVD Audio discs with superb separation. Highly recommend this player from Sony and especailly at this price! I have a Toshiba HD DVD player and it doesn't compare to the Sony. Date: 2008-09-16 Sony DVP-NS700H/B Review Looking for an inexpensive (and reliable) upconvert DVD player which would give an improvement of the video quality on an HDTV. This model filled all of the items I was seeking. I am very pleased with this product. While I am still learning about its features and settings, the only minor annoyance I can come up with is the player will not allow me to activate the movie's subtitles without first having defined it in the Setup menu. If I don't perform that and begin the movie, it will display some sort of security violation message if I should select the subtitle button on the remote. Very good picture quality, easy and intuitive set up and the functions are doable even for a technophobe like me. Highly recommend. Date: 2008-09-14 Outstanding picture Just purchased this model Sony DVP-NS700H to replace a Philips 3140 that I owned for less than 24 hours. The Philips was trash. I mean real junk. I had a $50 Samsung for 4 years before it gave up the ghost. Bought the Philips, returned the Philips, and bought this Sony. Very, very pleased with the DVP-NS700H and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive disc player with great performance. Date: 2008-09-09 Excellent Buy I bought this on the recommendation from Amazon website. I am very pleased with the purchase. Picture quality is excellent. There are many features that can be tweaked if you want. Right out of the box the picture is great. I set mine up with a HDMI cable to my AV receiver then to the Flat Screen. Amazing. Amazon is the best place to buy. Watch those prices for the next 30 days after you buy. :)
