Date: 2008-09-17 Great TV for the Money! I considered not getting a plasma since the great room we have has plenty of ambient light; however, it has not been a distracting prolem for us and the TV is bright enough to compensate. Samsung did a good job with the new filter bright technology. If we were watching a dark movie during the day, it would probably be a more noticeable issue, but not a deal breaker for us. One thing to consider is that our TV does not have a window directly opposite from it, but rather the windows are to the side. I got the TV because I did not want any issue at all while watching sports and I am completely satisfied. I have not had any problems with getting the picture adjusted and used the suggested settings on the Buyer's Plasma Guide website. Don't be intimidated to buy from Amazon, they are a fantastic online retailer. Date: 2008-09-16 Very satisfied customer I just purchased this television and I have to say I am really impressed. Date: 2008-09-08 Great Plasma TV I've had this Samsung 650 plasma for 2 months and have not had any problems. I did more research on new TV's than I did on my house. I looked at plasma and lcd tv's. I think plasma's are far superior, especially for sports. I went to many stores, many times to check out different models. I really liked the picture quality and the red Touch of Color on the Sammy. Amazon had a great price on a holiday weekend, so I made the leap. I saved over $800 by not getting it from the big box stores. I was worried about the delivery, but CEVA was great. 2 guys carried it in, placed it on the stand, hooked up the cables, turned it on , made sure it worked, and left the box in case of a problem. The picture is so great that I don't ever notice any glare. I have it angled a bit from my picture window. It does get warm on the top corners, but so does my 32" tube tv and all the one's before it. So to me the glare and heat are not an issue. Overall the Sammy 650 was a great choice and I can't stop watching it. The only downer was getting the 3 year no interest financing through the Amazon Store card. What a joke. Their minimum monthly payments are ridiculous. It's not like the big box store cards, so beware. Date: 2008-08-12 Worth the wait? You betcha! When I told my wife I wanted an HD Plasma she was happy to oblige...the only catch was we had to save up for it so we would have it all paid for when we bought it. What did that mean? We had to save for a YEAR! Was it worth it? You betcha! It's amazing how much HDTVs improved in just 12 months! Had we bought it a year before we would have gone with a 720p Samsung like my parents have (also a fantastic TV), but that extra year helped prices go down. We paired up the TV with the Blu-Ray Player found in the Sony PS3 and man does it pop! You love sports? You absolutely have to get a Plasma...don't let anyone trick you into getting an LCD. The plasmas refresh their picture four times faster than any LCD. Don't get caught in the blur! Everything about this TV is awesome. Get it! Get it from Amazon! The delivery service is impeccable. There's no tax depending on where you live. You can't find it cheaper anywhere else. This TV is the way to go! You won't regret it. The touch of color is awesome! Finally, no TV is ever perfect. The only negative I can think of about this TV is that it puts out a lot of heat. Just be aware that if you live somewhere hot and you're going to put it in a smaller room, you will definitely feel the difference.
