Samsung 42" plasma 720p HDTV
Pros: Great value for the price. Looks good. Beautiful picture.
Cons: None so far.
The set compliments the 24" Samsung LCD set that I also have. It is perfect for the location that I have Placed it in. The set operates well, is easy to set up and use, with vivid colors and all sorts of features. For example, you can optimize the mode (standard, sports, movies, games) that you are in so that the sound and picture are properly enhanced. Virtual surround sound is good, but does not compare to the real thing. I am extremely happy with this set.

Excellent TV
I had my share of HD flat panels over the past 2 years, from LCD to DLP...
With that in mind it's important to note that I do extensive research for any purchase over $500. I call this Flat-Panel TV "the little panel that could"..and it does deliver. Do not be weary of the 720p capability this is all you need to watch high quality HD. Blu-Ray movies "come to life" with this panel. It replaced a 46" AQUOS LCD and by leap and bounds it out shines it.
Even in it's "break-in" period (were you should keep your contrast and brightness to a minimum to avoid IR and Burn-in) this panel performs better than a LCD with good settings. Give it a shot. Best "bang for the buck"

hdtv antennae hookup
This tv is great regarding picture, size and price. I have enjoyed it since day one, with cable first then dish now. Then I feel hurt because it cannot perform what my neighbors less reknown tvs perform. With the craze of HDTV, 9o% of my neighbors go out and buy an indoor/outdoor HDTV antenna, hook it up to their TVs and then bragge about how many local HD channels they get with such and such antenna hooked to such and such tv. My Samsung does not perform as well and I avoid talking about it. I wonder whether this TV does have a true digital tuner. It does not pull in any hd channel with whatever kind of HDTV antenna, indoor by the windows, outdoor on the rooftop, directional, omni-directional, amplified/non-amplified, you name it. I have got no HD channels, period. Would anyone please tell me why?
BTW the same phenomenon happens to my Samsung DPL TV, HL-S series, that is supposed to be equipped too with a digital tuner.

WOW best tv for SD on the plantet
I live in a place with a 42" 1080 lcd and a old school 720p lcd and a 65'' dlp projection and none of them come close to this display in upsizzing without making people look weird. My digital cable sd brodcast up sized to fill screen looks better than hd on dlp projection. With still 85% of stuff on tv in SD and will continue to be well into the future this tv is a solid investment. Works great.
This TV is a great tv, got it durning christmas special for cheap with white glove delivery which was excellent in Louisiana (New Orleans) but they only send one guy so be prepared to help.

Stuck pixels and posterization
I had one of these sets delivered a week ago. From a picture standpoint it looks good for bright scenes, but has pronounced posterization on darker images. When the lighting is right, the color reproduction is outstanding.

Mine also has 4 stuck pixels, 3 constant red, one flashing red. A replacement has been ordered, so time will tell if I just got a bad one, or if these sets are prone to stuck pixels.
