I love my TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have had this TV for about 2 weeks. I love it!
I got it through amazon via OneCall. I ordered it on a Saturday, it arrived the following Wednesday. The wall mount bracket came on Friday and by Friday night it was up on the wall.
It has great picture, and good sound quality. The sound doesn't compare to what one get coming from a home theater system, but these are TV speakers! If you want crystal clear sound, get external speakers. It is possible to tailor the bass and treble to where you want them to be. I think it is more than adequate for TV speakers.
The picture is just outstanding! There are several settings available to allow the user to set the color level, tint, brightness, contrast, etc. to suit the users preferences, and the lighting situation of the room where the TV is located. The blacks are rich and deep, the reds are bright, and the yellows are sunny.
I have had no problems with image retention. even when a particular screen is paused for several hours. The TV has an automatic image retention correction which requires no attention from the user, or the user can use a scrolling white bar against a black screen whenever desired.
The set has an anti reflective screen, and the only time I have noticed any glare or reflection is when the light directly behind the couch is on.
You will want to install all the cables you think you will ever use before you mount the TV to a wall, because it's going to be very difficult getting them in the right spot once it's up there.
Selecting the input device going into the TV (cable box, antenna, DVD player, video game, etc.) is very simple. Simply select the appropriate input jack location from a menu, and press 'select.' Works great!
I was a bit concerned over the amount of heat that plasma TV's generate, but I needn't have worried. This set has built in fans that do a tremendous job of keeping the unit cool. I put my hand on the back of the set after it had been on several hours, and it was barely even warm! This set is EnergyStar approved, so the electric bill shouldn't suffer.
How Panasonic got all this quality into a set for such a low price, and still make a profit on it, is beyond me. But I'm glad they did!
I did a lot of research before buying this set, comparing plasma and LCD sets. I had it narrowed down to a plasma, and couldn't decide between this unit and a Samsung. After careful study of all the user reviews I could find, I went with this one.
This is the set to buy!

Very Nice HDTV
Like many others I spent some time trying to decide between LCD and plasma. I have a 32 inch Sharp Aquos LCD in our bedroom, which I bought last year at Best Buy and it cost me a few bucks more than this 50 inch Panny plasma from Adorama Camera through Amazon. And this TV's picture quality blows the Aquos out of the water. So either this Panny is a great deal or I got ripped-off at Best Buy last year, or maybe a little bit of both. Anyway, the TV arrived in just a few days after I ordered it and in perfect condition. It fits perfectly on top of the Prepac 60" plasma TV stand, and I just hooked it up to the Onkyo Home Theater HT-S7100 system today. My HD cable set-top box is 5 years old (no HDMI out) so I have component cables running to the Onkyo receiver cable/sat input and also PS3 hooked up with HDMI to the DVD input, then HDMI output from Onkyo receiver to the HDMI 1 input on this TV. I'm really impressed with the TV so far. I'm watching blu-rays in Cinema mode (see AVS forum for best setting adjustments) and the picture is just Dynamite. The TV's speakers are par for the course as TV speakers go, but hooked up to the Onkyo 7100 it really brings the audio quality up to the level of the video. Very Happy.

6th Ave Heartache
Beware of ordering from 6th Ave. They will NOT honor the terms of the Amazon sale. Amazon promised free "White Glove" delivery, but 6th Ave reneged. Even if they seem to have the cheapest price, it's worth choosing another seller to avoid dealing with 6th Ave. Amazon! You have half a dozen other sources for this television. Get rid of 6th Ave!

Great TV
This is a great TV. Its my second HDTV and by far the bet so far. The white glove delivery by AMAZON was great. The white glove delivery was the reason I decided to buy online. The guys carried the TV upstairs, unpacked it and plugged it in to make sure it worked. The picture is great from any angle. I could not be more happy!!

CALL Manufacturer's regarding EXACTLY HOW their warranty "WORKS" BEORE you buy!!
I have had ours Panasonic 50" Plasmasince July of this year 2008), I have a bunch of kids & was leary of the track record of some of these other manufacturers I was considering, in regards to warranty assistance SHOULD the need arrive!

I tried (I repaeat TRIED!!) to contact several manufacturer's that were in the running for my consideration, in regards to their warranties, WHO, WHERE HOW...etc would I send/take my humongous plasma to?
I am VERY rural (in the hills of TN!) MOST of them required I SHIP it to them!Do you know how big those boxes are that they come in? & the logistics of repacking it.........NOPE! "It aint a-happenin'!"
NO WAY do I have the room to store that big box, which would be needed to send it to them (& the cost!! Bad-WOW!)

Anyhow.... after MUCH deliberation & research I went with Panasonic (as their warranty is INTO YOUR HOME REPAIR SERVICE should you need a repair, GOOD-WOW!! :-)

I bought this as an older model with GREAT comsumer reviews,& a good value as the newer models continue to roll out & the price continues to fall!
I have been EXTREMELY pleased, & nothing has happened so far to need any warranty work!

The TV is crisp & clear, plays beautifully!

I don't think anyone would be unhappy with any Panasonic TV, I haven't seen a bad one yet......& NO, I don't have any stock (or work for panasonic!!) LOL.....just a bunch of kids & needed a dependable, quality TV....

In hindsight........the ONLY thing is, now that we've had it awhile,,,it actually looks SMALL to us!

We all want a BIGGER one! At least with all the research I've already done on Manufacturer's & their warranties (some are absolutely WORTHLESS!)
I only will have to look for the best deal on the bigger screens!
Hope this helps, 'cuz what good is a great deal on a TV IF you can't get it fixed should you need to!
