Date: 2008-12-22 Slow tuning only complaint We bought this TV for our bedroom. Great picture, features, etc. Love the built-in DVD. I was shocked however at how slow the tuner is. It is easily 3-5 seconds when changing channels. My wife says I deserve it since I'm such a channel surfer. :) As for the audio, I would never have realized that was a concern for anyone until I read these reviews. I guess we don't turn it up that loud. Sounds great to me. Overall, I think this TV is a good buy and would purchase it again. Date: 2008-12-21 Sloooooow channel changing, poor reception, good DVD I have the white version of this TV-DVD, and get my signal over the air. Some other reviews warn about the slow channel changing, but I had no idea how slow it would be. It takes 5 full seconds to change the channel. Literally. By the clock. Five full seconds. For a channel-surfer like me, that's crazy-making. Also, over-the-air reception with this TV is terrible, compared to two other TVs I've used in the exact same spot with the exact same antenna (6 fewer channels). Think twice before buying this model if, like me, you rely on broadcast TV. The DVD works fine. But I wish I'd bought a different TV. Date: 2008-12-16 Perfect for my needs. I've read some reviews stating that the speakers were not loud enough. If this is the case, then those people are either deaf or trying to listen to the tv from 30 feet away. I use this tv in my bedroom, and I never have to turn the volume up more than halfway. The picture quality is stunning and sharp, both with digital tv and when playing dvds. It also has the ability to play audio cds, and if you burn MP3s onto a cd, it can play those as well (I got bored enough to try.) All in all, this was a good buy that I do not regret. Date: 2008-12-14 Nice DVD / TV Combo with one limitation This combo DVD / TV was a nice addition to my kitchen. The picture is very nice. The controls are easy to understand. Unfortunately the sound leaves a lot to be desired. As others have stated in their reviews this set just doesn't have enough volume. In a completely quite environment the sound level is fine. If you have any background noise such as a mixer or dishwasher it is enough to drown out the TV. Sound level is also dependent on the input device. When using an IPod Nano or Touch as the input device the sound level is not as great as that of a DVD. I rate this system a 4.5 for the video section and a 2 for the sound system.
