Great TV impressed with Amazon, good delivery by Pilot
AFter much thought and wringing of hands, the 650 turned out to be just right. Glare is not a problem for us, fine we may have to turn off a light or close a blind. So the 630 in my opinion would not have been necessary with the flat screen.

Delivery by Pilot was much better than expected, they had called me to make a delivery appointment, the dispatcher who was in Hayward, was on top of the delivery and she kept her word. Two guys showed up in the deliver truck, I asked if they could removed my old 46 inch very heavy TV off the stand. They said they would, I was worried because it is so heavy I do on know if I can lift it. They unplugged and disconnected the cables and moved it across the room for me. Then they Removed my new 650 from the box and placed it on the stand, could see no damage to the box or the TV, they plugged in the TV, placed batteries in the remote and showed me it was working. I signed the papers and they left. Not many stores would have come out to my place and done the extras. Since I live 16 miles from the closest town, I had figured on a Freight Truck delivery and they would not do more than kick the box out of the truck, but Pilot came in a van and made it a pleasant experience, they made sure the TV was not damaged.

I hooked up everything else myself and it works great. What great pictures we get with Dish HD programs and my 1080I DVD player, not sure if I will feel a desire for a Blue Ray player?

Originally I was going for a Plasma TV, but after researching, the lower energy use of the LCD Samsung, plus it seems LCD's have less problems than Plasma.

Watch the prices on Amazon they move up and down, I was lucky we purchased on a low price day. Great deal with Amazon and free delivery, you cannot compare it. .

Consumer Reports forgot to test battery life on the remote...
We purchased the Samsung LN52A650 based on Consumer Reports rating of HDTV of bigger than 46". We waited until the LN52A750 was out before making the purchase since we assumed that newer versions are always going to be better. Much to our surprise, the A650 rated better than A750 so we went ahead and purchased it. The A650 is pretty much what we expected it to be including the intuitive and user friendly remote. Within a month of purchase, the battery went dead on the remote and we figured that the batteries we put in must not have been fresh and promptly replaced them. Then within 2 weeks, they went dead again and at this point, it dawned on us that the little light bulb that lights up the buttons when you apply motion is what's using up the juice in the battery. We are now more careful to ensure that the remote stays on a firm surface like top of the table (and not being subject to motion like on the couch where it could drain the battery). So watch out for the battery eating remote!!!

Rock Solid
Great t.v.! Amazon's service was right on the mark and the Samsung's performance lives up to all the positive reviews. The red Touch Of Color is fantastic. It's subtle, but as I look at it now, I'm very happy it's not just plain old black. It took awhile to figure out how to utilize the Film Mode and I messed around with the Hz. settings to keep it from looking "too digital", but it's all set now and the Samsung does not disappoint. Best tv for the money by far.

Great Crisp Picture!
The picture on this television is awesome! It's actually kind of freaky watching hi-def compared to the dlp we used to have. The colors are very crisp, the ambient light glare is minimal, even the non hi-def is really clear. The touch of color is hardly noticeable but I personally find it attractive.
What I'm not crazy about is the sound is mediocre (we have a surround system, so that fixes it,)and the reconfiguration from regular to hi-def and vice-versa lags a bit.

Great TV
Purchased this TV in November, 2008. No problems with ordering. Delivery went very smooth. White glove delivery worked great. Delivery guys set up TV. However, in our part of the country, it is cold in November, so I wanted to wait until TV warmed to room temperature to fire it up. No problems. TV is excellent. Had been investigating this TV for a while. This was my choice because of the 50,000:1 contract ratio & 4ms response time. With the price drop and 2 year no interest financing, figured it was time to make the move. This is my third Samsung and won't buy anything else as they have the best picture. Go into any electronics store and compare side by side. Samsung blows away all others. Some other reviews have criticized the TOC. It is so subtle that I can't imagine anyone complaining about it. No problems with screen glare either. If you are looking for a new TV, you won't be disappointed with the 650 series from Samsung.
