Everything I could have hoped for in appearance, performance and features. Rock solid all the way around.

Love It!
I love this tv! It had been 10 years since I had bought a tv. And I have to admit I felt overwhelmed by everything it takes to choose a tv now days. The place to begin is taking a look at what's out there and determining your personal tastes. I had bought a 22 inch Samsung a year ago for my daughter's college room and feel in love with its picture. Though that was a consideration, I did compare Sonys, Panasonics, LGs, Sharps, the gamut.

I knew my viewing room needed a 46 inch LCD set to fill its visual space. From there I started visiting big box stores, comparing picture quality and features. After reading all the articles, reviews, product descriptions and talking it over with some friends, I have to admit I don't believe anyone produces a better LCD set than Samsung. Sonys have a great name and history. But in picture quality, resolution, features, value, Samsung wins hands down. At least, as far as I am concerned.

My biggest frustration was delivery day. Being a hands on kind of guy I research a ton and then I am willing to try things myself. I've been around things electronic and mechanical all my life and knew I could set up and calibrate the set myself, which I did. Only thing I wish Samsung did was produce a clearer explanation of settings in their set up guides. Both the quick guide and tv manual were thin on settings between cable boxes, receivers, and the tv. After a little experimentation I got the picture up and its been smooth sailing from there. Being the suspicious kind, I think this is why people spend tons of money having other people set up for them, and the manufacturers are complicit in this. Getting past that, I love the set. It's a wonderful addition and I would highly recommend expending the few extra dollars to buy the Samsung a650. Worth every dollar and more.
