Date: 2008-03-04 Samsung Projection LED Price was a big factor in the purchase of the Smasung Projection LED HDTV, all the quality I was hoping for for a resonable price. I did not have a space issue so a flat panel was not a requirement. Delivery went well and the tv arrived in half the estimated time. Date: 2008-03-04 BUY THIS TV..... ..or at least get the 61in, its only a few hundred bucks more. The TV is well worth the price (which actually cost $400 less then a 42 inch plasma at a store in town). The picture quality is amazing. The remote is a breeze to use (if you have more then one inputs and want to switch sources, it will bring the ones you have turned on to the top of the list, so there's no cycling through several black channels like some old tvs). The 3 hdmi inputs are the main reason I bought this thing.. I've got my xbox360, ps3, and digital cable all plugged into it and I couldnt be happier. I'm also quite please with the "pc in" because it allows for easy access to microsoft media center without having to get up and go to the computer. If you dont already have a tivo or dvr and are shopping your options, you should definately check into media center.. it allows more flexibality and you can transfer the stuff you save to other formats. The screen image is top notch, and the tv set is pretty quiet and doesnt seem to run very warm at all. My xbox360 and ps3 both look great on it, as well as my hd-dvd's and bluray movies. plus, the thing is so light you can practically move it by yourself, especially if you just need to move it a short distance. all the inputs are located behind the screen but on the side of the tv, so its real simple to adjust or add your inputs. The only "con" I can report is the speakers dont deliver very good sound. This didnt matter much to me because I have a surround sound system plugged into it. You should definately use the money your saving compared to other TV's on a surround sound. Sony has some good quality ones for less then 400bucks all in one box. Lastly, if you have the room for it.. go ahead and get the 61". its not veyr much more. But the 56" is quite large enough, and the home theatre feeling is amazing with a nice surround sound. And dont worry, I get a crisp picture from almost 170 degree viewing angles, and I haven't had any distortion or ""bubbling" some people have reported. Well Worth The Money. And if the LED lights last as long as they claim, you'll get years of enjoyment out of it. And if it burns out in less then 5 years its still more cost efficient then replacing a $300 bulb every 2yrs (which is about how long 4000 hrs or so would last me and my roommates) with other dlp tv's. I say BUY IT, you wont be sorry. Transformer's in HD blew my mind it looked so good. Spiderman 3 on bluray was just as amazing. Date: 2008-03-04 Excellent Experience With Amazon and Samsung!!! About a year ago, my father bought the Samsung 61" DLP. I fell in love with the beutiful design and picture produced by Samsung's DLP. About six months after his purchase however, his light engine went out without warning! Luckily he purchased the extended warranty through conns for an extra 500$ and they quickly replaced his light engine! When i found out that they had came out with a newer model of his TV with an LED light engine i had to go out and purchase one for myself. Not only am i completely satisfied with the picture clarity but I saved nearly $700 dollars compared to what it would have cost me at Conn's! Amazon also gave me free shipping and threw in a free upconverting DVD player! This is the first major purchase i've made from amazon but i was very pleased with the product and the quick shipping with eagle freight! Date: 2008-02-29 Brilliant This TV is by far the best I have ever owned. I purchased a refurbished set and I am absolutely satisfied with my decision. My TV was delivered with not a single blemish or flaw. I am also extremely pleased to have paid 1/3 less than what this model retails for. The picture quality is simply stunning. All of my HD is in 1080i format as for now...... Blu-ray will definately be the next purchase. My old TV was a Toshiba 52" 1080i. The Samsung surpasses that TV by far even though I am limited by 1080i for now. This TV while having a larger screen size, actually takes up less space than the Toshiba. I have no complaints with the sound quality as others have stated. For movies I have surround so there is no need for me to have the volume up high anyway. Looking forward to a long DLP life with the LED technology also. My Toshiba bulb was starting to flicker a bit. Will not hesitate to purchase another Samsung in the future. 110% satisfied. ------ Amazon's customer service on the other hand was absolutely disgusting. They were some of the most incompetent, inexcusable people I have ever delt with. The ONLY skill they worked well at was wasting my time and offering no assistance or answers whatsoever. Their customer service fails miserably. Date: 2008-02-25 Surpassed our expectations! After reading the reviews on this website, we decided to order the Samsung 56" LED DLP HDTV from Amazon.com. We never would have considered making this purchase online until we read the good reviews and compared the price Amazon was offering to those of local stores. The free shipping and no sales tax clinched the deal. The TV was delivered in less than 2 weeks and the delivery service was excellent. We were amazed at how easy the set up was (plug & play) and we couldn't be more impressed with the picture quality and vibrant colors. The LED engine means we don't have to worry about replacing tubes, so it is really the perfect choice - more screen size for the money compared to LCD or plasma and extremely good resolution with no pixellation when there is movement on the screen. We are very satistfied customers!
