Date: 2008-04-17 What a buy!!!! I ordered my 5687SAX on January 31, 2008 it was deliveried on February 6th, I can not say enough good things about this set! The picture is as good or better than plasma sets costing twice as much and there is no LCD of the same size on the market that can touch it! The picture quality is outstanding eye popping colors, great sharpness and clarity! The set was a breeze to set-up and tweak, so much so I can see no reason to spend hundreds of dollars to have it 'calibrated'. I have had absoultly no trouble out of this set, no popping, hallo, screen door effect, rainbows, no green push, no warping, excellent picture alinement, and lastly no staying out late with the boys cruising the topless clubs and coming home drunk either! :-) If you want the most bang for your buck then go with the Samsung DLP with the LED engine and you won't be sorry. Date: 2008-04-17 Great HDTV I have owned this TV since September and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I bought this model mainly for the LED technology. The picture is amazing. I have my HD Dvd player, PS3, Xbox360 and cable box all hooked up and everything looks great. Had it sitting next to my old Mitsubishi rear projection set and the difference in picture quality was night and day. I would highly recommend this TV. Date: 2008-04-16 Refurbished TV I did a lot of research before I bought this TV and when I went to purchase the TV I noticed that it was available refurbished for much less and it was fullfilled by Amazon. The TV arrived today and it looks brand new to me. The viewing quality is absolutely amazing. I would recommend this TV to anyone. My PS3 looks incredible as well. Date: 2008-04-13 Phenominal HDTV, Phenominal price. OK, I FINALLY ordered this TV after researching it since November 07. We were doing a remodel and I simply didn't want to get it until all the dust had settled. I researched the daylights out of this purchase. EVERY HDTV forum I looked at recommended this DLP. It is full 1080p, has plenty of inputs which are easily reached, it's easy to calibrate, and the picture is fantastic. I will never understand why anyone would pay two and three times more for a plasma, unless you HAVE to wall mount something. This thing is only 15 inches deep and my wife of 5'2 and I put it up onto our stand with barely a grunt due to it weighing hardly anything. I've seen this TV next to others costing WAY more and this thing looks every bit as good and frequently better than all of them. I bought a Samsung Blu-Ray player and Amazon sent a free 1080P upconverting DVD player with the purchase of the TV. I added in the Onkyo TX SR605 receiver and 5.1 speakers and also hooked in my Comcast DVR which has HDMI as well and HD ready. Everythign looks and sounds amazing. Samsung has a thing called Anynet which immediately notices other Samsung products and instantly sets the remotes to work with each other. No more looking for and programming codes. While watching a Blu Ray movie I needed to leave and walked up to the TV and pushed the button to turn it off. Doing so also powered down the Blu Ray player...nice touch. I didn't experience any bowing or color issues some have talked about. Mine was perfect right out of the box except for some color tweaking. I used HDTV Calibration Wizard which walks you through getting proper brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness levels. It's not the best but it works and is cheaper than paying someone to come out and do it. Trust me, you don't want to just accept the factory set levels... This TV is soon fading away due to Samsung releasing the newer 08 version so don't wait to buy it. The newer one doesn't look any different to me yet costs 800 dollars more. Date: 2008-04-12 I'd Give It 10 STARS!!** I researched long and hard before making a decision on a big screen TV and was slightly nervous about ordering such a big ticket item (at least for me) online. I ended up ordering this TV, a Samsung 5-Disc Home Theatre System, plus the Samsung adjustable stand, all through Amazon, and could not be happier with the whole transaction. I decided on this model because of the LCD DLP setup since I did not want to worry about a spinning color wheel, a light bulb that would need changing and the fan system needed to keep it all cool. I thought I would have to end up ordering Dish TV in order to get a good picture but the trusty old antenna in the attic brings in all of the local channels in all of their HD glory. We were surprised to also bring in all of the sub-stations offered by these outlets. Actually, we have not watched much regular TV since receiving our Samsung due to the large DVD collection we have amassed over the years. It is amazing watching those DVDs with the upconverting DVD player connected to the 56" screen. It's like we are watching them all for the first time because of the image quality and the screen size---it is wonderful! We have movie-night almost every night! The delivery took one week and the delivery service brought it in, unpacked it and made sure it powered up and then took away all of the packaging, all in a very professional manner. I would not hesitate to recommend this Samsung and Amazon to anyone needing a big screen TV. Thank you Amazon for the great and speedy service!
