Incredible TV, Outstanding Service
The Product:
This television is even better than I expected. HD signals are incredible and DVD's look great even though my DVD player will only play through Component Video not HDMI. Outstanding Picture, looks like film not pixels as another reviewer stated.

The Price:
I landed this television for $1408, free delivery. This was already around $500 less compared to hhgregg. Then the day the tv was delivered I noted that the price had dropped down to $1180 and I called Amazon and they gladly credited my account. So it ended up being over $700 less compared to box store.

The Service:
Delivery was on-time and the Eagle associates did a great job and even moved my ridiculously heavy Sony Wega 32" CRT to the other room for me (it had taken me to the floor the night before!)

I would highly recommend this television and even more highly recommend buying it from Amazon!

A Satisfied Customer
After considerable reflection and research I chose to purchase the Samsung HLT5087SAX 50" Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV and since it was not available in a "store" I bought it through Amazon. I have been a satisfied customer with Amazon for years but became wary about the shipping and handling of TV's after reading some of the reviews. Eagle handled this shipment. I ordered the set on February 12 and saw from the tracking that it arrived in San Francisco on the 16th. Monday, the 18th was a holiday so I called them on the 19th. They said delivery was set for Wed, Feb 20 between noon and four. At 11:00 a.m. the driver called me that he was "5 minutes away". He was friendly, courteous and efficient. He helped carry the unit to my place, unpacked it and tested it. There were absolutely no hitches in this purchase. The set itself is everything I could have hoped for. Beautiful on and off. Love it! Oh. Two days after I made the purchase from Amazon I saw they were offering it for a lower price. I e-mailed them and they graciously and quickly refunded the difference to my account. Very satisfied. Thanks Amazon!

Awesome value
After finally entering the market for a big screen tv of course I began looking at the LCD models, not wanting a plasma and of course the rear screen projection was a huge box. WRONG. The new rear screen tv's are nothing like I remember, and this Samsung is a beauty.Being only 14 inch's deep it is really not much different than an LCD/Plasma but doesn't matter to me because it is going on an entertainment center anyway. After seeing CNET rate the Sony KDS-55A3000,a rear projection but has a 2000 hour lamp,a #2 overall in HD tv's and not wanting to spend 3800.00 on a top of the line Samsung LCD I gave this tv some serious thought. After seeing both tv's side by side at Expo I actually thought the Samsung had a better picture and the long lasting LED light engine was a feature I really wanted. But I still had reservations about buying something like this on-line, but the price was just to good to ignore and I was comfortable with Amazon having purchased many other items without any problems at all. The tv was delivered on-time, in perfect condition, , and set up on my stand, all for free! For my money this is a great deal. The picture quality in HD is stunning, has excellent color, good sound, and a feature set that is hard to beat. Overall I am extremely happy with this tv.

Amazing picture quality
The color and clarity of the picture on my Samsung are excellent. Nature scenes appear as if you are looking out a window. People appear as if they are in the same room. All sports broadcasts are crisp with no blurring of any action shots. My viewing position is 12 feet from the screen and this is not too close for total enjoyment of the 50" screen.

WOW!!!
My wife wasn't too excited about me buying a big screen TV. She's not as picky about audio visual things. But the morning after I set it up, she turned it on for the first time (I had Cars playing on an upconverting DVD player), and let out a very audible "WOW". My wife never says "wow" about anything. A few days later, my equally unexcited 24 year old step daughter was unexpectedly impressed with the quality of the image when watching a local HD program OTA.

The viewing angle is the only downside I can see to this TV, but with where we sit, it is a non issue. We have a huge window right behind our sofa, and the glare is barely noticeable (not like a plasma would have been). Upconverted DVDs look stunning. And I personally love the fact that this unit uses about 1/4 the energy of a plasma. But what I'm most pleasantly surprised about (and the reason it took me so long to get a big TV) is that standard def (digital cable, VCR, etc.) look quite good on this set. I've seen standard def images on plasmas and LCDs in the stores and could not stomach them. I'm extremely happy with this set. Gotta go watch something...
