Almost perfect
It is a ery nice TV. I got it from BEST BUY and it is the cheapest TV around. Of course SONY and SHARP are better but for the value I got a very good TV. Picture is good.HDTV is a PLUS. Remote is weak.

Great for less than 900.
Bought one on 1/2/2006. TV didnt pick up remote very well and had a line appear only 14 days after. I got a new one and all seems ok. As for picture quality and value, I would give it a 5. Like others, they have much to improve on.

Amazing
This TV is amazing. I bought this for my husband for Christmas. We just got the hdtv hookup from our digital cable company on Friday and we have been glued to it all weekend. The picture is just amazing. I honestly didn't think it would be that great, but it is. I don't really have anything to compare it to..this is our first LCD HDTV. We are very pleased with this set so far and the service has been wonderful. Purchased from Crutchfield through Amazon.com.

Have had mine one month and it is worth every penny!
I bought my unit for $999 at Best Buy, and recommend this unit highly. Compared the display to all of the other LCD televisions in the display rack and based on a very patient selection process, I found this unit to have more features and outstanding qualities than in more expensive LCD televisions that cost $500 - $750 more! In fact, the quality of the image is more on par with what one expects from a plasma display.

Unpacking was simple - Nice simple box with easy slide-out for the TV. I recommend keeping the box for moves and such - Doesn't take up that much room. I did buy a service contract so it does pay to keep everything handy just in case.

Power-on for the first time and a bit of a new-TV smell. Took about one day to go away. The set is mildly warm when running and very easy to position/move if you need to point the set to one direction or another.

I have a Directv Tivo, and did have a devil of a time getting a code to work with that system remote to control the Westinghouse. It turned out that Sony codes work with the Directv Tivo "peanut" remote unit - code 0067 will do the trick. It takes a few tries to get it working, but be patient, it will work. Seems like the Westinghouse remote codes have yet to be universally recognized by the Tivo remotes, but at least there are options. For more visit the Tivo user forums.

Other than this pleasant adventure in finding a code, I can say I've had absolutely no troubles with the Westinghouse unit. Westinghouse has a real sleeper in this system! I have yet to try the SVGA and DVI inputs, but will be moving my Gateway to the same room as the TV soon enough to try this out... My guess is that it will be as eye-popping as the Tivo/Satellite displays.

I also have an older X-Box and ended up using the second set of signal inputs (on the left side of the TV) to input the signals from the X-Box. It worked great and I'm happy with the quality of the picture and sound.

Speaking of sound, the reviews that talk about the great sound that the internal sound system delivers are right on. I did eventually override that system with my theatre sound system, but I must say it was quite acceptable and shows what a quality job the Westinghouse engineers did in the design of this exceptional unit. I did note that you have to manually override the default selection of internal sound to redirect the audio signals to your theatre sound system - All easily done from the remote.

The thing that takes getting used to is the "stretch" that some video broadcasts take on with respect to conventional aspect ratios you see on a regular "square" TV. It doesn't take long though. Once I had a couple of days of use on the set, it became "normal" to view regular broadcasts in this aspect.

Another interesting thing is the zoom feature for DVDs when you want to have the image fully zoom into the picture. Many times you don't need the zoom, I guess it depends on how the DVD was recorded or how the broadcast is being done, but I can say that it is nice to have options to override and get the quality of image you want.

What really made my day is that the unit is so light in terms of weight and on power draw. I got rid of an older Panasonic 36 inch set that weighed over 200 pounds and it was a real relief to get a set of similar size with more features and at a much lighter weight.

Power on takes about 3 - 5 seconds - Totally acceptable and from the looks of it saves $$$ in terms of electricity without having to use tube warmers for instant on.

I use this set in a single room studio, and it is plenty large enough for my setup, but I will say this: When it is time to get a new house, I'll buy another Westinghouse set 36 inches or larger and use the 32 inch for my den... Not a doubt in my mind of what a great set this is and I will definitely keep an eye on Westinghouse products in the future!

Quality control leaves a lot to be desired
bought one two weeks ago. had to bring back to store 3 times. 1st 2 were light leaks in corners. 3rd one was leaks, dead pixel and sound wasnt as good as 1st 2. i decided to give it 1 more shot and lucked out and got a good one. would recommend when they have it on sale for $900. wouldnt pay more for it.
if quality control was better would give 5 stars for value.
