Date: 2006-02-28 AMAZING for the price! As the other reviews have said, this TV is the best bang for the money. I looked around for a while looking for LCD/Plasma to replace my old TV. Basically I went to Bestbuy and they had this tv and it looked great compared to others that were $500 to $1000 above its price. I paid $800 for this set and I love it. Recently got HDTV and the XBOX 360, and the only thing I can say is WOW!!!. Games on the xbox 360 are just stunning, eye candy. Plus I have my computer hooked up to it by the DVI input on the TV and on my graphics card and its just stunning. Playing Half-life 2 on the 32" is just incredible, can not get any better than this. The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 is because around the corners of the screen, there is alot of white light that shows. Especially when watching movies. Just imagine the screen is blank (with a black backdrop) on the corners on the TV, you see white light, just around the corner, it gets annoying when watching movies that are dim or dark type of movies or even games, its just a distraction. Date: 2006-02-27 Fantastic HDTV at a Fantastic Price!! You want an HDTV, but you don't want to tap into the kids college education fund to buy the darn thing... am I right? And you want to know if this Westinghouse (I know, where did they come from?) is really any good. OK. Fair enough. I'll tell you. It's fantastic! It's been sitting in my living since a tad after Christmas '05 and I have no complaints (other than my cable company unable to procure FOX in HD, but that is a whole other story). Picture is crisp and clear, edge to edge. You can sit anywhere at any distance, and it still is completely viewable. Absolutely no glare. NONE. 1080i offers plenty of resolution. The HD channels are stunning. The level of detail is hard to believe. I can see why the Hollywood types are objecting. Every blemish becomes evident. People being interviewed look like they are in your living room. Unbelievable. So what are you waiting for? Get off the fence and grab one of these. You won't be disappointed. And then you'll be able to brag you've got a Fantastic HDTV at a fantastic price!! Date: 2006-02-24 computer monitor I purchased this unit for purposes of using it as a computer monitor. It has worked out wonderful. I am using the VGA hook up. out of the box and hook up took 15-20min. The clarity is stunning. I use it to watch movies downloaded from the internet and what a treat. I have a DSL connection . I also have it hooked up to a PS2 and the games come alive with the component hook up. this is a great tv/monitor. The menu adjustments make it easy to control the look of the screen. Plain old net surfing on this 32in baby makes the net come alive. I could never see going back to a 17in monitor again. I have the sound through the computer sound card 2.1 and internet music videos are a blast to watch on this screen. The internal speakers are more than adequate for video gaming - PS2 - with menu adjustments. Date: 2006-02-02 Perfect Value LCD HDTV! My family's TV was in its death throes. We decided it was time to venture into the world of HDTV. We have an existing cabinet that we wanted the TV to fit into. This left us with the choice of a 30 CRT or an LCD. After a lot of research we were thoroughly confused and even considered re-purposing the cabinet and going with a 47" DLP which would really stretch our budget. Having noticed the Westinghouse LTV-32W early when researching we decided to give it one last look before making a final decision. Plenty of inputs, quick response time, good resolution and fair price; it fit in the cabinet so it won. We are using the cable co. HD/DVR service. The picture is amazing. You know it is when you are watching shows you normally would just because they're in HD. The cats and dogs are now watching TV- no kidding- they sit and stare at the TV! We hooked up my Powerbook to the VGA port- instant 32" monitor (stick to 60hz)! Very cool. Next purchase; a mac mini for permanent hookup. The Xbox is hooked to one of the two component input and it looks stunning! We don't really have anything we are disappointed with at this point (2 weeks). If I had to say anything that wasn't positive I guess it would be that I would prefer a HDMI port instead of the DVI. Just to cut down on cord clutter. That said you can get a HDMI to DVI cord off ebay cheap if you have an HDMI component you need to hook up to the TV. I cant believe what they charge for those in stores! Date: 2006-01-28 Almost perfect It is a ery nice TV. I got it from BEST BUY and it is the cheapest TV around. Of course SONY and SHARP are better but for the value I got a very good TV. Picture is good.HDTV is a PLUS. Remote is weak. * Price is subject to change. |
