Fantastic TV
I've had this unit for over 6 months and continue to be pleased by its array of features, quality and price. You'd be hard pressed to find another TV on the market that could compete with this one on picture quality and price.

Beautiful!
I've been wanting an HDTV for quite some time. At issue were the following: 1) Space issue - The unit had to fit in our existing armoire 2) Cost - I wanted to buy something less than $...My wife finally gave me the green light and was quoted as saying "I probably won't even be able to tell the difference between analog TV and HDTV." Let's just say she was pleasently suprised. She thinks it's absolutely AMAZING and so do I.

Lots of Bang for the Buck!!
Simply a wonderful TV for it's modest pricetag. Never have I enjoyed watching DVD's as much as now. The speakers on this unit are absolutely amazing! You will notice that this unit comes equipped with several features not even offered on higher priced named brand units like Sony. Because you're not paying for the Sony name, you are getting more for your money and a crystal clear quality TV! I love it and would recommend to anyone. Best of luck.

A good widescreen HDTV for the price
I bought the Philips 30PW850H 30" Widescreen HD-Ready TV from Costco for $799 (a real bargain, especially with Costco's lifetime return policy.) I needed to replace a large older analog projection TV that was taking up too much space in my family room, and wanted to move to a smaller widescreen HDTV. The Philips Widescreen has not disappointed me. The digital picture from DirectTV is very crisp (I'm currently using s-video connection as I don't yet have an HD satellite receiver.) From a progressive scan DVD the picture is beautiful and near-HD as you would expect. The set has two component inputs and two s-video inputs (one in the back and one on the side.) My wife likes to watch the local channels, so I tried to prepare her for what I thought would be relatively poor picture quality on these over-the-air broadcasts. However, broadcast TV looks great on this set as well - apparently the "Eye-Fidelity" system helps upgrade the analog picture. There are no visible lines nor is there the grainy appearance I had expected to see. The widescreen formats are easy to switch between using the remote. The set is attractive and has a small footprint. If you are looking for a widescreen HD monitor that doesn't dominate a room and you want to stay under $1000 in price, this may well be the TV for you.

Excellent for the money
Just got this television and for under 1K, it does a bang up job. It has an input for you progressive scan DVD player and an input for your 108i HD reviever, plus two more inputs for you VCR and whatever else you might have. The picutre on this thing is awesome!! Even old tapes look good with the line doubling, which lets you pick progressive or interlaced, I find interlaced helps with analog stuff, it takes the jaggies off. Again, for under 1K, an awesome tv.
