Date: 2004-04-23 Yes! For the money...$778 at Wal Mart...I can't imagine a better set. Picture is good (with analog cable) and STUNNING with DVD...and, I hope, Digital Cable. I read the one review where he had trouble connecting to his a/v reviever..I can't imagine what the trouble was. I was up and running (with my new and still somewhat unfamiliar reciever) in about 10 minutes. Anyway...if you have about 800 to spend...GO GET IT! Date: 2004-04-19 Clueless Philips Tech Support I recently purchased this 16x9 TV to replace a 4x3 TV. I ran my old tv thru a Pioneer audio/video reciever. I run a VCR, laserdisc player, dvd player and video game player thru the a/v reciever. When I got this new tv home and tried to hook it up, I ran into problems. The instruction manual does not contain any reference to going thru an a/v reciever. I called tech support. The person told me she did not know how to use an a/v reciever with this tv (she did not even know what an audio/video reciever was). I finally tried different configurations without much success. I emailed their online support twice. They never responded to my emails. I called 2 more times and their tech support offered no applicable advice. The last person I spoke to said that they only have the same directions as I have in the instruction manual. I followed the instruction manual as much as possible but was either able to get the peripheral components to work, or the on air tv, but not both. The last tech I spoke to agreed that I probably have to return the tv and get my money back as he could not offer any advice on how to get my tv to work. After spending 3 weekends trying, without success, I guess I will have to return the tv! Is this anyway to run a company? Date: 2004-04-09 THE BEST TV EVER!!!!!!!!! I just bought this set from Best Buy yesterday, and I was totally blown away with the astounding picture quality and crispness of the image! The screen is quite large, and everything just looks so much better on it =). This is an incredible set, and it is also at a very great price! I would HIGHLY recommend this set to anyone looking to upgrade their home theater experience! Date: 2004-04-04 Great T.V For Price! I bought this t.v at best buy and let me tell you I'am glad I purchased it. The picture quality is amazing even without an HD tuner. I also have a progressive scan dvd player hooked up to it and the picture quality is better than I had thought it would be. It exceeded my expectations completely. I highly recommend this t.v! Date: 2004-04-04 MY NEW TV Just payed $799 for this set Philips 30pw850h at Sears matched the price of Best Buys plus 10%. Very happy with the picture quality,value and all the features in the set. But one problem is the sound I hear a constant ummmming from the speakers on all channels and on all the sound selection features in the set. If anyone can help please write back. Is it the tv speakers? My cable from the wall to vcr to tv? My cable co. lines outside? * Price is subject to change. |
