The 181-channel tuner features MTS stereo reception with dbx noise reduction. Setup and programming is simplified with the trilingual (English, Spanish, and French) onscreen display. Three palette presets (vivid, standard, and movie) provide a range of audio playback, all available in Matrix Surround sound, which provides 3-D audio from the pair of front-firing speakers.

The rear S-Video input lets you connect a digital satellite system, S-VHS machine or video game system for high-resolution entertainment. Two sets of rear audio-video jacks allow you to hook up a camcorder, VCR, or DVD easily. The Sony KV-35S42 also has two rear composite inputs and a single RF input.
