Date: 2010-05-16 Won't Play Blu-Ray Pro: Plays DVD Con: Won't play the first Blu-Ray I tried.... keeps getting stuck or rejecting disk completely, even after firmware update. It's a brand new disk. EDIT: Actually,it doesn't play regular DVDs either. The sound gets out of sync and I need to open/close the tray about 10 times per movie. This is with the latest firmware upgrades from LG. Won't play DVD. Won't play Blu-Ray. What does it do? Date: 2010-05-11 If I could rate it lower I would have don't buy this Blu ray player, no matter what you do. mine failed outside the three month (THREE MONTH!) warranty. this is a waste of money, it skipped and stuttered , which I thought I could put up with . but a 5 month old Blu ray player should not have to be replaced. this is not a deal by any means. I'm trying the deal I saw at a certain website that starts with D and ends in ell. I'll never buy LG again. Date: 2010-04-29 Pay extra $$$ to get quality Wanted a Blu ray player to compliment my HD viewing, after sending one defective unit back to Amazon because it would lock up I was sent a replacement unit. What I got was a unit that sometimes works, sometimes not. I am a netflix subsciber and only am able to play about 50% of movies I recieve. Called LG for customer service and they were going to send me a firmware update and never did, called them back and now they want me to send in for service. Save yourself a lot of headaches and buy anything but a LG. It is cheap quality. All movies that would not play on my LG played just fine on my Sons PS3. Date: 2010-04-28 Better not have any scratches or your dvd's wont play . . . I bought this on the after thanksgiving day sale. I was so excited to have a blu ray player but this has been nothing but a disappointment. It skips if there is even the smallest scratch or bit of dust. I really wish I could have returned this. Date: 2010-04-27 Avatar will not play? The solution is here I could not get avatar to play on my LG BD270. I downloaded their firmware upgrade [ [...] ] and it now plays fine. The upgrade also seems to have fixed the problem of fast forewarding and the machine would skip or stop. I downloaded the fix today and all has been well since then. I purchased my LG BD270 at Thanksgiving. My LG BD270 has now been replaced. It will play DVD's but not Blu-ray disks. I will never by another LG product. A player that lasts 6 months is worth nothing. I switched to Sony about a month ago and I am happy so far. * Price is subject to change. |
