Great Value, Good Picture
The Family loves it, the picture is very good, no real problems setting it up if you plan before you install. We had to install a dedicted HDMI cable to the unit because the contractor that ran CAT5 screwed up and the baluns would not work on his cables; they did work on factory cables run outside the walls, but what good is that, might as well run new HDMI if you have to open up walls and ceiling. Black levals and contrast not as good as 51" plasma, but at 104" the picture size more than makes up for that. Sharpness and detail are excellent. No noticable RBE and noise is not a factor when viewing actual content at eco lamp settings; it does pick up quite a bit at shutdown, but only briefly. Sources are DMA2100 (1080P, 60hz), HD-A30 (1080P, 24hz) and WII (component input) passing through TX-SR606; no problem syncing with any source once the dedicated HDMI cable was installed. Ceiling mounted using Dayton PM105.

Absolutely Pleased
This is my first projector. My only other experience with home theater projectors is watching movies on two of my friends' projectors in the $2000.00 range. When I was waiting for my projector to arrive I had the mind set that if I wasn't satisfied with it I would immediately return it and spend an extra $1000.00 to get something I was happy with. As soon as I received my Optoma HD20($999.00) with the recomended ceiling mount and an Elite 100" screen I installed it. It is limited on the adjustments that you can make to the image size but the quality of the picture is excellent. I connected it to a sony blueray surround sound and I'm completely satisfied with the picture and sound. I did not have to make any adjustments other than picture size and focus. I give it five stars and recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to spend $5000.00 for a great home theater system. Installation is very symple, all the needed hardware came with the ceiling mount from from Projector-gear. The only other hardware I had to buy is two wood screws to install the screen and an HDMI cable to connect it to the blueray player. I may never pay $10.00 per person(I have a spouse and three children)to enjoy a movie. The kids are absolutely exited.

STARING AT A WALL IS GREAT FUN . . .
. . . especially when you have this projector putting awesome images on it!

As I am completely new to the world of projectors, here are a few of my newbie impressions:

PROS:

--Easy to set up. Plug a few cables in, turn the dials a few times to get the picture focused and TADA! you'll be having yourself some good times.
--Spits out a ~47" diagonal screen at 5 Feet! As I live in an apartment, space is at a premium, so I'm glad this projector lets me place it on the coffee table instead of behind the couch, shooting the image over my head.
--Xbox 360 games look EXCELLENT with a pair of HDMI cables.
--You do not NEED a special "projector screen" (although one is certainly desirable). I just shoot the projector at the bare wall and I honestly think it looks fine. Also the room the projector is in has three windows and in spite of the morning sun, I can still see the picture clearly.
--Intuitive remote and menu screens, to include a lamp hour counter.
--Is shipped in a big cardboard box with plenty of thick bubble-wrap to protect it while it is en route.

CONS:

--I do see a few rainbows, but I've only really noticed it when I'm watching DVD's.
--As I later found out, this projector does not have any audio ports, so make sure you have a receiver or something similar.

OVERALL:
--If you've never owned a projector in your life (like myself) then you can't go wrong with this one. Right out of the box it has the power to satisfy your big-screen desires.

Great Projector for the $
We bought this projector about 3 months ago and have been using it in our downstairs home theatre on a 94" screen.

We have a very dark room with no windows; so this is perfect down there. Picture looks great and vibrant on the lowest light setting. (Great because it increases the bulb life to around 4000 hours).

HDMI input and Component inputs were great additions to this 1080p projector. We ceiling mounted it and ran the cables through conduit to a media closet. Couldn't be happier :D

The only down side to this projector is its manual focus/zoom. But for the costs; I'm willing to reach up and adjust every once in a while. (For the most part it will never change if you ceiling mount it... but i like to reach up and put the lens cap on the projector when we aren't using it to minimize dust on the lens).

If you are reading this, do the right thing and BUY This already, its a purchase you won't regret.
