User Submitted Coby TFTV1212 12-Inch Widescreen TFT LCD 720p HDTV/Monitor (Black) Reviews Date: 2010-08-23 Great little HDTV for the money! I purchased this TV hoping that I would be able to watch the 2010 World Cup games in my office. I plugged it in, connected an HDTV antenna, and was amazed at how clear the picture was. Since the local Spanish language channel broadcast all of the World Cup games in HD, I was able to watch almost every weekday game of the World Cup at my desk - in HD. When some of my co-workers found out about my set-up, I had more than my usual number of visitors during game times. They too were impressed by the picture quality. The sound quality doesn't quite match the picture quality, but it serves its purpose. As a small, portable, HDTV, this TV does not disappoint. Date: 2010-07-07 Great little TV... If you understand what it is capable of I have been using this tv on my desk to watch/listen to as I work and I think it is awesome! Now, you do have to understand that if you intend to buy this for its HDTV function, it only displays HD for HD digital tv signals over the air, using a antenna connected to it's tv/ant cable connection. If your heart is set on connecting this tv to any external device such as a cable box, satellite box, dvd player, then you will be disappointed at the quality because even if the device is capable of displaying HDTV or HD quality, the RCA cable connection (and even the s-video connection) are not HD connections. This tv does not have any HD type of connection, it only displays HDTV signals received over the air with an antenna. Try playing anything in standard definition full screen on a 50 inch flat screen HDTV and then play something being transmitted in HDTV on the same tv in full screen and you will see the same effect of digital quality vs analog quality that this tv displays. Also keep in mind that not all programming being transmitted over the digital signals is not actually HD programming, it can also be standard def being transmitted digital. As for the sound, it is a bit tinny, but I have this tv connected (via the line out jack) to external speakers that have decent bass and clarity If you connect it to the cheapest quality external speakers you can find, the sound will not improve. Knowing all of this, for the price, I would buy this again if I needed to replace it, or needed another one to use in a similar manner that I use this one. Date: 2010-07-06 Great little TV & Monitor Shipping was quick, TV was well protected in the shipping container. The TV works great straight out of the box, the system is easy to set up and use. The only thing it lacks is an HDMI port but that is a very minor issue. Date: 2010-06-10 Highly recommended Mini TV The 12" Colby TV is just what I wanted. Great picture, small enough to sit on a shelf by my computer. No problems at all up to this point. Have recommended it to others already. And terrific price on Amazon. Date: 2010-05-07 Nice Digital ana Analog TV Tuners I am satisfied with this product. I Only have complaints with the quality of the sound that is very poor and of bad quality. I like very much that it has Analog and Digital Tuner, in my case it serves to me for both still. * Price is subject to change. |
