Fantastic to this Non-Techy!
I bought this unit during one of the special day deals and it was a fantastic deal. I'm so happy with this dvd/vhs Blu-Ray player. I'm absolutely NOT technically gifted, but I was able to easily hook it up and get it working very quickly. I also bought an HDMI cable to hook it up to my LCD TV (around $3 here on Amazon) and I am thrilled with my new "home movie theatre quality". The sound and the picture are absolutely amazing! Worth every penny and more.

disappointed
After spending a ton of time screwing around with Panasonics' automated customer service line (kept sending me to camera dept, etc.) finally got to a person that explained to me that the Panasonic DMP-BD70V Blu-ray Disc/VHS Multimedia Player is not compatible or upgradeable to Pandora and Netflix, etcetera. I wouldn't have purchased it had I not been led to believe it was so. I could care less about the Blu-ray aspect of it, I probably couldn't see any discernible difference between it and any other brand in the price point. I have been purchasing Panasonic TVs and Stereos since the days of the 8 track, and this is the a let down.

Great Blu-Ray For The Price!
This is a great Blu-Ray for the price. Great quality picture and sound. I do wish the Viera Cast would have a link to Netfixs and was wifi, but again for the price it's pretty good. Very simple to connect and operate. The hdmi to the flat screen and optical sound connection produces a very good picture and sound. I have not used the vhs so I can't comment.

Video, DVD and Blue-ray any questions?
Well my old T.V. had the video and dvd player built into the unit. When the dvd player stopped working I bought a new T.V. with the player separate. This was a know brainer in my opinion when it came to buying this player. You are not limited by anything when it comes to this player. You can play VHS, DVD and Blue-ray so I thought well can't pass this up. It has been great and the play back quality is great. The VHS feature says that it improves the video quality. I am not sure about that but it may vary from T.V. set to T.V. set so don't expect any huge improvement. I mean it is VHS after all. Overall I am very happy with this player and would recommend it to anyone looking to get a new one. Thanks

Great little machine
Received this player on time. It does everything it says, and well! Connected right up to my Samsung hdtv with no need for me to do anything but put the batteries in the remote (HDMI.) Works and looks good. Nice to be able to use all of those old VHS tapes too. Has worked without flaw for 2 and a half months. Pros; works well with both media. Short warm up time. Reads all the blu-rays I have with no problem
Cons; VHS is always 4:3 Guess if that's the worst thing I'll be OK.

I have had this little gem for 4 months now. It is an awesome up converting machine. DVD media will play at a noticeably higher resolution. Not just a little better, but a lot better. Don't watch a lot of VHS just some of the old Disney ones we have. They are also better, but not as good as the DVD results. Don't use all of the internet stuff so can't comment on that. My daughter rented a DVD the other night and when I walked in in the middle of the movie I thought it was a Blu-Ray disk playing. It was that crisp. I like it, just wish the price would come back down to what I paid for it so I could get another one!
