Excellent Entry Level Blu-ray Player
This Blu-ray player was a steal at the $62 refurb price I paid for it. The picture quality is great. It does onboard decoding of the new lossless audio codecs (DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD). The load time isn't too bad for a blu-ray player either. All and all this was a super purchase.

Great product, Fast Shipping!
I bought this blu ray player to use with netflix. I get two blu ray movies a week for $11.00. All movies so far have played with great sound & picture. I've watched about a dozen movies. It dosen't have wireless for streaming movies, but I don't need this as I get streaming movies through my WII player.

Great basic Blu-ray player
For the price, this player is a great entry-level blu-ray player. I had been looking to upgrade from an upconverting DVD player when Blu-ray players dropped $100. While missing the frills of the newest players (e.g., Netflix streaming, Pandora, BD live, etc.), my player has handled everything I've thrown at it. It upconverts DVDs well, and the picture quality on Blu-ray disks is great. Disk load time is pretty fast relative to my previous DVD players, and the player remembers where to resume from when you turn off the player.

A common man's point of view.
Folks, I think I got a true bargan in this BD player at $85.00 w/free shipping from Amazon. I haven't had any problems at all with it. It played Avitar in BluRay beautifully. I didn't have to upgrade the firmware as it must have already been upgraded. The only things it has refused to play is HD-DVD and Pal formated DVDs. I'm anxious to see how it will play a 3-D DVD. I have the Samsung 3-D ready DLP HD-TV. It does take 2.5 minutes to load Avitar, but it is worth waiting for. When friends see this combo they are blown away by the quality of video and sound...........Richard

Cheapest BluRay player
It's been 3 months since I bought this item. I did not use it that much. Mostly with Netflix movies when I have some time on the weekends. Load time for Blu Ray discs is painful. Now, after the full refund time was due, all of the sudden the sound is giving me intermmitent problems when using HDMI connection, sometimes the signal give me a screen full of green lines like if I was connected to the Matrix or something(how cool is that!lol), it looks like when the video card in the PC is not working correctly. I have to turn it off and back on to fix it sometimes. I am planning to return this item at least for a partial refund anyways. Ok, maybe I got a lemon but I knew about the No Features deal from before I bought this item, but hell... I can't even play an AVCHD Disc or any BD Compatible disc created with my PC, not compatible with any type of video discs (AVI,MPG,DivX, etc), also updating the firmware is a pain. The interface looks like somebody made it with a Commodore 64, the menu looks so cheap, like the remote. Even thought I bought it as a New item, it make me feel like it was a refurbished unit. I would not buy it again, not even as a gift for my worst enemy. I think I will go with some full featured BD Player like a Sony or Panasonic. Now I have to pay for shipping and they will give me a partial refund, at least is something (thank god for Amazon policy). You buy cheaper you spend double at the end, lesson learned.
