Date: 2010-06-14 Served it's purpose For a time I had a HDTV that only had one HDMI input, yet I had a HTPC, PS3, 360, and a Roku. Fortunately the HTPC wasn't HDMI at the time (it was using DVI). This little switch did a great job switching between them. Loved the fact that it had a remote. Managed to get it working with my Logitech Harmony One. Date: 2010-06-14 No frills item, works exactly as advertised Very convenient to set up, no instructions are required really coz it's pretty straight forward. Came in plain packaging, nothing fancy. i like that coz it means I am getting good value for money (as long as it works). This device has been working exactly as expected and as advertised. I saw one at Best Buy for a significantly higher price. I would recommend this HDMI switch any day compared to the overpriced ones available in stores. Date: 2010-06-12 Works exactly as it says it will Very Easy to set up and use. What can I say. I bought a Blu-Ray player and my TV has only one HDMI input. I looked and found this inexpensive answer. I ordered it along with 2 cables (you need 3 total for 2 devices). Plugged the Dish Network receiver into one input and the Blu-ray into another (still have one left for the next gadget) and connected it to my TV. When I turn on the Blu-Ray it automatically switches to it. Couldn't be easier!! Date: 2010-06-11 Excellent! I've seen HDMI switchers in stores that are ridiculously expensive, but this one is smaller and more elegant, and it WORKS! It even has a remote to let you switch between the inputs without pushing the button on the unit, but you probably won't even need it because the auto-switching has uncanny cleverness. If you need a product like this and you're on the fence about whether this is a good one, go for it! Date: 2010-06-09 3 port switcher I have a 52" Toshiba in that basement and I recently installed a new BD on the 50" LG TV upstairs that has wi-fi capability so could watch Netflix via the BD. I wanted to move my Roku box to the basement but was short one HDMI port. This device looked like just the thing. Received the device earlier than ordered but it lacked any directions. Figured how hard could it be - hooked up cable box to one port and Roku to other. Using both the remote control and manual buttons I could never get the video to stay on the cable box - it would always switch to the Roku (which does not have an on/off switch - it's always powered up). I read some reviews on Amazon and some people mentioned the documentation (didn't get any) and the 3' HDMI cable (didn't come with one). But they did say to hook up the Roku in port 3 as the switcher looks to Port 1 first and if nothing powered there will go to next port. No matter which way I connected stuff I couldn't get it to work. In fact, it acted worse than the first time I tried it so I returned it to Amazon for a refund. I'm not the swiftest guy in the world but just could not make this device work. Lots of people loved it but it just didn't work out for me. Would have helped to have some documentation and a website/800 number for tech support to call but couldn't even tell who made the device by looking at packaging. * Price is subject to change. |
