Date: 2008-12-28 Great Player Great Player and little slow on load up of disk, but all in all very good. Date: 2008-12-27 Blue Ray for the masses Excellent blu-ray player. Easy set up with both HMI and Component outputs. Hooked up to the Internet and automatically updated to the most current firmware automatically. Movie and sound is fantastic. No issues at all A++ Date: 2008-12-27 Nice Player for Basic Blu-Ray needs Nice player, easy to set up. Blu-ray on a 1080p 120hz tv is amazing, great for ps3 as well. Overall, a solid choice in the price range. Date: 2008-12-27 Nice Blu Ray player !! (does play James Bond) What can I say..... It plays Blu rays...It upconverts my dvds although not quite as nicely as my ps3....And after updating the firmware it does play the James Bond Blu Ray set sold on Amazon ! Updating the firmware is simple even from a mac....simply go to the samsung website... download the firmware upgrade(about 40mb)( my mac book it automatically unzipped it). drop the upgrade onto a thumb drive....make sure the blu ray player is connected to a television with no disk in it. insert the thumb drive, the player automatically detects the firmware and installs it but you must press ok when prompted to get it started.... Picture quality is great. This is not the best blu ray player on the market but the price reflects that..It does what it advertises to do...... Date: 2008-12-26 Perfect Starter Blu-Ray Player This player is a perfect purchase if you have been thinking about sticking your feet in the Blu-Ray Pool. I have had zero problems with this player, the picture is top notch and the sound is just as good. I have it hooked up to a 50 inch Samsung 1080P so it has been put to the test and passed. Standard DVDs look great via the players up conversion also. I think peoples biggest hold up in regards to picking up a blu-ray player is price. Now it may not seem worth it but new movie releases are usually $4-5 higher than standard DVDs (if you get the 2-3 disc versions)which to me is worth the extra scratch. But getting this player in no way binds you to buying Blu-Ray only, as I have said it also makes regular DVDs look even better. So I guess the point is why not own a Blu-Ray player? You can buy either standard or blu-ray dvds and both will look great in this Samsung player. You won't regret it. Enjoy.
