User Submitted Sylvania LC195SL9 19-Inch LCD HDTV Reviews Date: 2009-01-05 Audio Really Does suck The audio is pretty bad. I had a regular Sylvania before and the audio was not that bad. It must just be this model. Don't buy it. Invest in a better brand or try a different model. Date: 2008-12-28 terrible audio for this nice tv "The picture quality is pretty good but the audio is lacking. The sound is quite tinny and seems to echo if you have to turn the volume up to any point above 1/3 the maximum volume. There is also a several second delay when you turn the unit on before a picture appears." My sentiments exactly, Jenn. Great TV, but the audio is poor. Now I gotta figure out if I want to bother returning it or buying external speakers. Date: 2008-12-24 Great TV for the price! I'm happy with my purchase. I'm not crazy about the stand as it wobbles just a bit but I don't have kids or pets that might knock it over. At first, I didn't like the sound quality but soon learned there was nothing wrong with it. It was just different from my old 15-year-old tv. Date: 2008-12-06 Good television for the price I bought this television recently at Sears on sale for 200 dollars. The picture quality is good (not great, but good) and sound quality is okay as well. I understand how some people might be frustrated with the picture and the sound, but a name brand 19 inch 720p HDTV with two HDMI inputs for 200? I was impressed. You shouldn't expect the quality of say a Samsung or Sony for this price, but realistically, like I've said this is an excellent buy for a small room. People expect to much. Date: 2008-11-06 poor sound quality We just bought this tv. after reading the 2 previous reviews that pointed out the poor sound quality. I guess we assumed the reviewers were exaggerating the problem. We own a 13" tv/ vcr that we had been using and we figured that although the reviews for this tv warned us of tinny audio issues it couldn't be worse than our 15 year old ,13" tv. we were wrong. It's unbearable! Perhaps it has a lot to do with the size and shape of our room, In any event we now need to invest in 50$-100$ worth of surround sound. or send the tv back. the picture could be ok, I dont know? I cant endure having the thing on long enough to tell. For the time being im going back to my 13"tv/vcr.
