Date: 2008-05-29 PANASONIC DOES IT AGAIN I am extremely pleased with the quality of picture on my new Panasonic 42" plasma TV. I looked around and this TV was highly recommended by Consumer reports and Forbes Magazine. You cannot beat this deal from Amazon! Date: 2008-05-27 Overall solid TV This is a good TV for the bedroom. The picture looks great in a dark room but relatively ordinary with lighting on. It is a good buy. Date: 2008-05-27 Nice step up. I wouldn't exactly consider my review to hold much weight simply because I've been using an old 19 inch Mitsubishi for the past 18 years, so as far as I'm concerned, most likely anything I were to buy would probably end up looking like a @#$% drive in screen to me!!! However, I am very happy with what I got, and most happy for the price that I got it at. Everything I read told me that the Pioneer "Kuro" series was the holy grail of the plasma tvs in this size range. My father bought the "Kuro" and paid $800 more for his than I paid for mine, and I can't see any difference in the quality of picture. It may make a difference when you go larger than 42", but at this size, for the money................I think I'm pretty satisfied that I got the best TV out there. Date: 2008-05-20 Broken screen two times! After reading reviews I was convinced that this was a great TV. So, I bought one from Amazon, and I got after 2 weeks. However, the TV screen was broken, so Amazon sent a replacement, and after one more week, I received the TV...with the screen broken AGAIN! So, I'm not sure if this is a problem with the TV, with the packaging or the company who delivery the Amazon items (CEVA). Whatever is the case, I have the feeling that the TV is really fragile, and you will have to be really careful if you want to move this around. My next move? I will buy a LCD from another brand (Sony, Samsung, etc.) Date: 2008-05-20 Awesome HDTV! This is a great product. Since picking up the set at Best Buy (and using the Amazon price to knock quite a bit off their retail price) I have enjoyed every minute of watching this TV. The picture quality is stunning, and the set is built well. The menus are intuitive and well laid-out. Don't worry about the common plasma myths. Google "plasma buying guide" for information on modern plasma displays. In my opinion, they are currently the best HD technology. Note: if you want to connect to your PC, consider the Viera TH-42PZ85U, as the 80U does not have a PC input.
