User Submitted Toshiba DVR610 1080p Upconverting Tunerless VHS DVD Recorder Reviews Date: 2010-06-20 Hook up not what I'm used to. I just got this recorder. I'm in CA. I have Comcast as my cable provider. The Dvd recorder has no coaxial cable in put. You must use the 3 RCA type wires white, red, and yellow from the cable box into the dvd and 3 wires white, red, and yellow out to an Aux input 1,2,or 3 on the back of your TV. (Unless your TV has HDMI then you can use the provied HDMI cable from the dvd to the TV.) Then switch your TV to that Aux video channel to play the Dvd. To watch Tv with it off you use tv controler change back to the channle 3 for the cable then use the cable box controler to watch cabel TV , and so on and so forth etc.Eph. 2:8-10 Maybe there is another way but I don't what it is? Hope this one lasts. Date: 2010-05-21 After 6 months this is what its like after a shakedown cruise Ease of use I gave it a 2 Star rating. Its not that it is hard to use but if you plan on adding any text to the DVD's you make, prepare to spend some time typing stuff up. And you do have to put some info on the DVD so that future generations can look at the DVD without wondering who it is. (Remember old Black and White photo's from grandma's cedar chest with no idea who those people in the picture are?) This is what I have to say about buying a refurbished Toshiba - Don't. Warranty is only 30 days and thank god for SquareTrade 3-Year Camera/Camcorder Warranty ($125-150 Items)If it hadn't been for them I would have been stuck high and dry. I used the machine for probably 6 hours at the most and then it started eating VCR tapes which was a bad thing because those were all the videos I was trying to put onto DVD. Buy a new one or better yet get the new improved modelToshiba DVR620 DVD/VHS Recorder, Black I'm telling you this because I don't want to see anyone else loose precious memories because of being a cheap person like I was. Date: 2010-04-21 It is worst purchase I have experienced! I have discovered that there was broken lid of DVD portion at the time of unpacking the item. It was obviously unserviceable item, I mean it was completely broken, and I can not believe my eyes on what I received. I do not want to lose the money that I paid for this trash, but I will not matter even if the vendor will not replace it with serviceable one. But I wish to let every customer, who is going to intend to save some money with choosing refurbished item, know that they probably get delivered unserviceable, defected item at the end. Date: 2010-03-22 If it's too good to be true - this is. I spent a lot of time trying to copy VHS tapes to DVDs. This unit is fine for VCR playback but the DVD recorder did not work. I tried several ways to get it to work - no such luck. After ruling out several actions I concluded this is a very poor device for recording or even playing DVDs. And the remote did not work either. Do not even entertain buying this. Ron Fredericks Date: 2010-03-16 Just What I Wanted I wanted one machine to provide VHS and DVD recording and this Toshiba has performed well. It is also easy to transfer your VHS tapes to DVD. I transferred my VHS home movies to DVD and am pleased with the quality. I would highly recommend this recorder. I liked it so well that I purchased another one for the bedroom. * Price is subject to change. |
