User Submitted Samsung LN52A550 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Reviews Date: 2008-09-07 Simply Increadable! I am very impressed with this TV. I've always loved the Samsung LCD TVs and feel that they have a much better picture than other brands, but this one is amazing! Picture is brilliant and has the most vibrant and true colors I've seen. I enjoy watching TV more than I ever thought possible (and this is my 3rd HDTV.) I also love having a 3rd HDMI input right on the side as well as USB. I highly recomend this product and especially recomend purchasing it through Amazon, as I saved nearly $800 overall compared to buying it elsewhere. Thank you Date: 2008-09-07 Alex If you need Close Caption (CC) feature, then you have to pass on this TV as well as all Samsung line - for some reason they do not support CC for HDMI and Component inputs, but only for AV input. Some cable boxes have CC feature, but it was not adequate substitution - very few channels are supported and it is out of sync with video (I have Comcast). I called Samsung customer support and was told that it is by design. I still wanted to keep this TV, because picture was good. But in three weeks it stopped working because of power supply failure. I called Samsung customer support - they said that technician will be dispatched to my home in two weeks only. So, considering both above, I decided to return it back to Amazon. Amazon handled it well despite it is a big item and shipping is not cheap. Bottom line - Samsung TV and service was not good for me, but Amazon is great. Amazon's white glove delivery was exceptional...delivery service set up and tested TV, they were excellent! I have purchased many items from Amazon over the years, but this was the biggest ticket item; at first I was a little apprehensive, but Amazon has always provided outstanding customer service and delivery. They did not let me down! I highly recommend the Samsung television and Amazon for any purchase. Date: 2008-09-06 I like it This is a nice TV. I installed it myself in no time on a TV stand with limited know how. I went on-line to get different opinions on the TV settings that provide the best sound and picture. My wife originally thought is was going to be too big for us, but now she thinks it's beautiful. The TV was great to watch the olympics on. Movies come in very nice and we don't even have a blueray. We're very happy with our fist lcd flat panel.
