Research before you waste your money on expensive cable Date: 2010-04-09 HDMI for less It burns me when I go to Radio Shack or similar stores looking for audio/video cables and they want $30 to $50 for an HDMI cable, when I can get the same thing for less than $10 at Amazon. Same thing for almost all audio/video accessories. So when you are building a home theater, look to Amazon first. Simply buy your wall mount (I suggest the Cheetah brand), your banana plugs, your video cables, your surge protector (I recommend the Monster brand - get the best one you can afford.), your speaker wire, and all the rest of the necessary stuff, and you will save a ton of money over what the retail stores charge. And do not be fooled by the hype that a $50 cable will outperform and look better than the less expensive ones. These cables perform spectacularly! Now to be fair, I purchased one inexpensive HDMI cable years ago (not from Amazon) when the Playstation 3 first came out that failed on me. It was very cheaply made, and it fit loosely in the connector and would cause the video to suddenly lose contact. These cables sold by Amazon fit tightly into the connector and have never failed, but if they ever do, I just get a new one and I'm still money way ahead of buying an expensive one. Date: 2010-04-07 Awesome HDMI Cable -- Terrific Value Awesome HDMI cable that continues to work flawlessly after one year of heavy use. I have multiple sets of these cables in use throughout my house on various HDTVs and input devices (including 1080p Blu-ray) with no issues on any of them. The picture is stunning each time without exception. As has been stated on many other reviews, HDMI transmits a digital signal so the signal is either transmitted at 100% perfection or not transmitted at all -- there is no difference between the picture quality transmitted on this cable or on one costing $100. In my opinion, paying for more expensive cables would be an unfortunate waste of money. Date: 2010-04-05 Great. Basic HDMI cable. Fantastic price.
