Date: 2008-04-18 Great TV, Great price I waited and researched it to death, then bit the bullet in Jan. Satisfied ever since. No halos, no ghosting, no haze, no problems with remote....nothing. Watched "Deadliest Catch" on HD for the first time last night....thought I was going to get some dramamine. We had some miscues with the delivery, but found it was my fault as I had not updated our new phone number on our profile. Have not had a 1080p source hooked up yet, looking forward to that. Date: 2008-04-17 Great TV for the price, speakers are so so I think this is a great tv for the money. Great size screen for the money. I mainly bought it over a plasma because no burn in when playing video games for my kids, and the led technology takes the worry out of projection like you have with the bulb/wheel dlp setup. The speaker system is not near as good as my old Toshiba Cinema Series rear projection tv, but it is okay for normal viewing. For movies everybody including me uses a theater surround sound system anyway, but I do view alot of tv at night with the sound provided by the tv, and bass is sadly lacking. I did not have any of the halo effect with this one, and I am pretty sure with the ones Amazon sells that end in SAX, Samsung has fixed this problem. I have noticed though that you still get a ghosting effect in the center of the screen from top to bottom. It is simply caused by any reflection in your room, whether it be a ceiling light above, or in my case a light reflection off the hardwood floor from a nearby window. When the set is on and a picture is present, you don't notice it, but if the screen goes dark or black for a second you can see it. I try to watch with low lights and the blinds closed during the day. I had a Samsung rep. out to verify the above mentioned ghosting was not in fact the halo effect others have experienced, and while he was out he made several adjustments to help with incorrect screen geometry, centering of the picture, and focus. I now know how to do those things myself because I saw him do it, so that is nice in case I need to change anything minor later. As for picture adjustment, the standard, movie, or dynamic settings as they come default are not right at all in my opinion. I fought with it for about a week, and broke down and bought Digital Video Essentials to help me calibrate the picture. I think it looks great now, and I am sure a Pro calibration might look a little better, but I am happy with mine the way I did it, and saved $300 to $500 to get it done professionally. Overall, happy so far. The only thing left to do is buy an extended warranty, and you have to do it before 90 days from the end of your standard 1 year warranty or it's too late. Date: 2008-04-17 Beautiful picture!! Samsung makes a great product - I love my new HDTV! Beautiful sound and crystal clear picture!! Date: 2008-04-17 Just plain SWEET!!! I love it. The best purchase (and the most expensive) I've ever made on Amazon.com. Search the web and you'll find thousands of great reviews on this TV so I'll only mention a few things. First the home deliver was fast, courteous, and on time. Second, most features have already been covered but I really like the USB port. It allows me to quickly download some music on a thumb drive/memory stick and instantly play it back through the on screen menu. I must also mention that I have invested a lot of money in my sound system so I don't use the mediocre TV speakers. I still can't this TV cheaper through a local merchant. Date: 2008-04-15 samsung 61' DLP LED Amazon is great and so is the TV easy set up and a great picture.
