Date: 2007-01-24 how to change the speaker cable? Somebody mentioned that the speaker wires need to be changed. Where can buy the clip terminals for the speaker wire? Can I re-use the clip terminals come with the system? Date: 2007-01-20 Great price, good product. This home theater system was a great upgrade from what I was using - a basic home stereo - for my home theater setup. The quality of the sound is good, and you can't beat having 5.1 surround sound, especially with HD technology that caries 5.1 signals today. Why I didn't give a 5, because the user interface itself is a little screwy and not incredibly easy to get around. Some of the nomenclature that they use for various modes are not very clear. But if you don't care as much about fussing with settings to get the system optimized, and just want to "plug and play", it is fairly straight-forward to use. Another issue I seemed to have is using the inputs and outputs. Some of the labeling is poor for one. Also, I noticed some signal loss with passing some of the video through the system. I don't know if I had the cables wrong, the setup wrong or what, but I just decided not to feed the video through the system. Overall, you can't beat the price, especially if you don't care to get one of those DVD home theater units (that don't work as a receiver), this is a great way to go! Date: 2007-01-16 Best for the Price I highly recommend the HT-DDW900. Excellent Home theater system in the ~$250 price range. Plenty of power for my needs (16 x 16 room). Must read the owners manual to understand the system as most functionality is configured through the remote control... definitely a bit more complicated system setup than my old Home Theater system. The setup microphone is useful if you don't want to bother to learn the remote. Date: 2007-01-16 The best for its price More than a month now with this system and it is awsome. Good quality sound, the auto calibration is excellent and the inputs and outputs are a good choice. The only drawback is that the 2HDMI inputs and 1 output is just a passtrough, it doesnt take the audio from the hdmi, so if you want the digital audio from a dvd or ps3, you will have to hook them up via coaxial or optical. But for its price is the best thing you can get with a HDMI socket. Date: 2007-01-12 Not bad I bought this system because of the price. For the price, it works fine. The controls/displays/setup/remote could be WAY easier to use, which is my only real complaint. I suppose that "ease of use" is something you have to pay extra for. For the money, though, the quality is pretty good, and it sounds great (in my non-techno-geek opinion). * Price is subject to change. |
