User Submitted Eforcity HDMI-F to DVI-M Video Adaptor with Gold Contacts Reviews Date: 2010-03-06 Good Price, Bad Quality! I purchased an Amazon HDMI cable with this HDMI to DVI adapter. I did this with the intent that when I upgrade my DVI only graphics card to an HDMI only graphics card I would just remove the adapter and plug the Amazon HDMI cable directly in to the new graphics card. However once I started using this adapter one very noticeable flaw while watching videos appeared. I get vertical gray lines in dark areas of the screen. I tried multiple cables and multiple connection scenarios to determine that it was indeed the adapter causing the problem. The item was so cheap that I didn't feel it was necessary to return it, especially since BargainCell doesn't refund shipping. I would suggest if you are in my situation go ahead and purchase the Amazon HDMI to DVI cable as I originally intended to do. Don't use adapters, especially this one. Date: 2010-02-28 What a bargain My Sony HDTV is one of the first HDTV's to hit the market, and didn't have an HDMI port, it has a DVI-M port instead. My new Blue-Ray DVD player has a HDMI output, so I searched for an adaptor. Most I found cost anywhere from $30-40, and then I came across this one for $4. It works great, and now I can use my Blue-Ray player with my TV even though my TV doesn't have an HDMI port. I spent a lot of money for my TV when I purchased it a few years ago, and it still works very well. Imagine how crazy it would be to have to buy a new TV just because my older TV didn't have a HDMI port. This adaptor has saved me several hundred dollars, at least for the time being. Date: 2010-02-17 HDMI to DVI review I bought this product for my Olevia LCD TV. It doesn't have a HDMI port but I used the DVI slot for my PS3. DVI does not support sound but the picture is great and the price makes it a great buy. Date: 2010-02-09 GREAT buy I bought this so I could use my HDMI signal from my PS3, to plug into my PC monitor so i could get 1080p without spending $600+, and it works. I wasn't sure if the HDMI signal would be altered by the adapter and if it wouldn't be HD but it is full 1080p but it couldn't look better. I highly recommend this for use with video game consoles, dvd/blu ray players, or anything you need to get HD out of and want to save money (assuming you have a HD PC monitor). * Price is subject to change. |
