Tripp Lite's IEEE-1394b, or FireWire 800 cables, are the latest in FireWire technology, with data transfer speeds up to 800Mbps, twice the speed of original FireWire. The 9-pin to 4-pin FireWire 800 - FireWire cable (also known as a "bilingual" cable) will connect a 4-pin FireWire (1394a) device to a 9-pin FireWire 800 (1394b) port on a computer (FireWire 800 devices can achieve FireWire 800 speeds only when connected to a FireWire 800 port). These cables are 100% compatible with Apple FireWire, Sony iLink, and all other IEEE-1394b peripherals. Main Features User Submitted Tripp Lite F019-006 IEEE 1394b Firewire 800 Gold Hi-speed Cable, 9pin/4pin - 6ft Reviews Date: 2010-07-22 Didn't work Received it in the mail in a timely manner, but it didn't work. No reason to send it back and get another because it would cost more postage than necessary. Wish I would have just spent more money and got a better wire... Now I have to anyway. Lesson learned! Date: 2010-06-04 Works like a charm!!! $40 at Best Buy?!?!??!!?!?!?! Works just like the ones at Best buy for $40. You're a fool if you buy any cables there. Thats how they make alot of their $$$. Im a pro and this cable is fine for any needs. I'm importing video from minidv to final cut pro and works great. Date: 2010-05-20 Got a bad one first, had a good one 1 day later. I mean, what am I going to do? Give it 1 star because I got a bad one the first time. I have 3 years worth of family videos to transfer, I had to wait an extra day for the replacement to come. But that's why I paid an extra $2 to get it from Amazon. People are too critical. Anyway, the replacement came, no cost to me, and I got all the videos ripped onto my new Mac in a few days. They look great. Better then spending $30 at best buy for the same wire. Date: 2010-05-11 MiniDV camcorder to Mac Mini... perfect! I looked around for a good week wondering and hoping that this was the right cable. I wanted to hook up an older MiniDV camcorder to a Mac Mini. This cable worked perfectly to connect the old style 4-pin (FW400 - FireWire 400) on the camcorder to the newer 9-pin (FW800 - FireWire 800) on the Mac. When powering on the camcorder and opening iMovie everything was recognized the way it should have been. It even seemed to work with Skype to turn the camcorder into an impromptu webcam. Date: 2010-04-15 Firewire 800 hi speed cable, 9pin/4pin This firewire cable was a good find. The same cable at Apple Store was more expensive and out of stock. I used this firewire cable to connect my Old Canon Gl2 cam to my Imac(Imovie), to capture video straight to my Hard drive. I could not use my GL2 cam for a while because the tape mechanism no longer worked. But it's been ressurected because of the firewire capability. It's Awesome when things works out this great. * Price is subject to change. |
