User Submitted Optoma EP729 Micro Portable DLP Digital Projector- 2.2LBS Reviews Date: 2008-06-29 Small, very portable, reasonably priced I bought this projector for my business where I occasionally give powerpoint presentations, one or two a month. I've also used this projector for a couple of home movies.
I love its small size. I often go to meetings on my bicycle (I am a bicycle/pedestrian planner and safety educator), so a light-weight projector was very important to me. The remote laser pointer is a nice feature. Everything fits nicely into its small, padded case. Many people are amazed at how small it is, and comment positively on this.
It has been very adequate for the classroom-sized presentations I've used it for. It cools down very quickly (mere seconds). I need to spend some time with the manual to be able to adjust the brightness, as sometimes the image is a little dark. I've been using it without reading the manual -- most of its functions are obvious. Overall, I'm very pleased.
Date: 2006-12-13 Purchased 2 projectors If portability and quality are equally important to you, then this is a great option. The projector gets regular use in classroom settings and is transported weekly (it weighs less than most laptops). Its performance was impressive enough to warrant the purchase of 2nd EP729 nine months later, for use in another branch of work.
