Nice TV
I bought this tv because of it's good specifications. I have to say that the tv is as good as it's specifications. I know that Cnet thought this was a middling computer because of issues it had with the color settings and picture. Well I have to say they are wrong. This tv no longer has problems with the color temperature or brightness settings. The factory defaults seem quite ok to me. The picture is near perfect with my progressive dvd and is excellent with a digital or hd satellite although kind of wavy with an analog VCR. Some nice features on this tv are designed strictly for cable not satellite unfortunately, such as pop3 or 12(3-12 images on the screen) which require the channels to be picked up by the tv's tuners. The remote has a very cheap feel to it and sometimes you have to press a button twice to get a setting to work. But this is a behavior you unlearn after you get used to the remote. The tv takes a while to load many of it's settings so you think the remote is not working, but it is. Also you learn to use the shortcuts on the remote. Another premium feature of this tv's is really it's compatibility as the complete home entertainment vehicle. It takes 8 different inputs, 3 video inputs or s video, 2 component inputs, vga, dvi, and cable jack, all selectable on screen.

Outstanding value
After months of reading, waiting, and looking at different 32" LCD displays, I purchased this one a month ago. I was willing to pay more for a better picture, but when I looked at this TV compared to others in the under 2500 range, this one had as good if not better picture, connections, size, looks. I know the specs sound great on paper, but the real difference is the picture compared to others and I think the picture is outstanding. I got the Avia and Video Essentials DVDs for calibration and the TV was very, very close right out of the box. I connected it to a satellite receiver (not HDTV) and it looks great. I also have an upconvert DVD player connected to the DVI input, CATV, and a GameBoy connected to composite.

A word of warning: I first connected the TV with cheap cables and it looked horrible. SInce it was only a 6 foot run, I did not think it was going to make a difference. I thought it was the TV was ready to return it. A friend suggested I tried Acoustic Research Pro II cables and the difference was incredible. So, do pay attention to cables. I think monster might be overkill, but the cheapo ones won't do it.

It has a little bit of a red push to it but since it allows you to control the color gain for RGB, I was able to tune it down. The remote control is huge, but since I use JP1 capable remote, I just needed to upgrade it and I am good.

The packaging showed good quality. The LCD glass is from LG, so it is a proven glass. No dead pixels.

All in all, great value, great picture, good quality. No regrets here.

Great Value
I am very impressed with this TV. It looks great and it is easy to hook up almost any device to it. I have no complaints at all. Oh there is one thing. The remote is a bit cheesy and sometimes you have to press it "just right" to get it to work. I still give this TV 5 stars

Believe the customer reviews....this TV is great!
After months of research I ended up choosing the Olevia LT32HV 32" LCD TV. Aside from the amazing price (I actually bought this at a computer "superstore" for only $1399 after rebates and I couldn't be happier! I've hooked this up to my progressive scan dvd player and movies look good (considering DVD is not HD). Cable TV is what you would expect (nothing great) but I'm upgrading to HDTV next month. My laptop loves this display as a monitor....extrememly clear/bright picture! I've also hooked my XBOX up along with their HD A/V pack and played a couple of games in 720p and even 1080i! All I can say is WOW! What most people probably don't realize about this TV is that the LCD screen is actually made by Philips/LG, so you know you're getting a high quality glass. This set is begging to feed it some hi-def material and then it will really show you what kind of power it has. Also, let me CLARIFY something that other reviews on other sites seemed to have gotten wrong:

Some review sites say there is no "stretch" option for 4:3, only Zoom and standard. This is not true. When you have the setting at "Full Screen" it is the same thing as "Stretch". I was VERY pleased to find this out and shame on those other sites for putting down incorrect information.

I can agree with everyone else's opinions about the remote...not the best but it gets the job done. The menus are hardly intuitive but once you figure them out the first time you won't mind them. I've only had this TV a week and have already received many compliments on how it looks. It is a nice piece of furniture when not in use...especially with the cool blue glowing light when turned off.

Bottom line is you will love this TV. Don't believe some of the negative reviews found here. They were either misinformed or received a lemon. I am a proud Olevia owner :)

One of The Best LCD TVs in the Market Today
I own this TV; and I love it! I have found no better quality TV in its price range or within a thousand dollars of its price range. I almost bought the Sharp Aquos until I compared the specs. The Olevia's specifications surpass those of the Sharp Aquos and for a lot less money. You will not find the 1200:1 contrast ratio of the Olevia in the Sharp Aquos. I plan to buy another Olevia for my bedroom. I had never heard of this brand of TV before, but I'm so glad I checked it out. The quality is superb and the beauty of the TV is unbelievable. This TV is quality inside and out. Everyone who comes to my home compliments this TV. It is the best looking TV on the market. I was tired of those silver LCDs. The classic black frame is beautiful--very tasteful. I loooooove my Syntax Olevia 32'' LCD TV; and if you owned one, you would love yours too!
