Don't buy this TV
I bought this TV from CompUSA in November. It died in December. CompUSA said too bad, I had to go thru manufacture. They gave me a number that was disconected. I finally got in touch the Manufacture. They said I had to give them a credit card in case I did not return the old TV. They said the card would only be charged if the tv was not returned. My wife found that they had charged our credit card $1800 even though the TV had not been sent out yet. Most companies at least facilitate customers with problems. CompUSA never returned any of the ten phone messages that I left. This included the Regional Manager and the Store Manager.

Good Buy if you are not hunting the bleeding edge of technology.
The Syntax Olevia LT32HV is a good buy in my opinion if you understand up front what you are buying. There are many other brands with a superior product to this LCD TV. However, I planned to use this unit as a secondary PC monitor for PC games, a monitor to play console games, and when not gaming to be used with my Snapstream Beyond TV media PC. I can also switch from my Snapstream to my direct out from my cable box and watch the High Definition feeds directly when HD is available for that show. This Syntax Olevia LT32HV does all of these functions very well.

I'm not positive I would reccomend this as the primary TV for a livingroom. As I mentioned before, there are other brands for that purpose. (Samsung / Mitsubishi are the kings of the livingroom!)

This Syntax Olevia LT32HV comes with enough connection types to work well as a glorified video switchbox for all the devices I have attached to it.

Color temperature is serviceable and contrast ratios are sufficient for all but the most discerning eye.

My only real complaint is that I am obviously using many different video sources and switching between them sometime causes the image to not be centered properly on the input you just switched to. This is easilly fixed by a single button on the remote to force a "video adjustment" and you are back in business.

When I purchased this unit the price was excellent and I got the "buy this unit and get the free 800x600 LCD TV all for the same price" deal and Syntax DID send me the other TV which is functioning well.

Amazon only offered shipment options of "White gloves delivery" which DID NOT happen but Amazon was cool enough to then refund all my shipping costs so it all worked out well. I would like to add that this whole shipping fiasco had nothing really to do with Amazon. UPS just does not offer this "White gloves delivery" options to those of us who live in the south. (Houston, TX) So when the UPS guys dropped the package off and I asked him, "Where are the white gloves, and will you be watching me open the unit to check for dead pixels?" He just gave me a indignant look and said, "yeah right!" and got in his truck and left.

So barring the "White glove" service. This TV is a great buy.

$ FOR $, THE BEST LCD!
The picture quality, color saturation and sharpness are excellent. Only the Sharp AQUOS beats it, for much more money. The sound from the built-in speakers is pretty good with a Polk Audio sub-woofer attached.

I've recently installed a ONKYO TX-SR503(B) AV Receiver with 7.1 Surround sound and HD Component switching. It color matches perfectly with the LCD and lets my switch from CATV(HD), DVD(Progressive Scan), and XBOX(HD-AV adapter). All three are connected with Component(Y,Pb,Pr) cables and Digital Audio cables. The sound is awesome.

Watching sports or nature shows in HD is an experience.
I purchased my LCD back in Feb 05 before the price dropped, but I've enjoyed it so much that I'm not dissapointed.

Big Disappointment
I purchased this Olivia TV from Beach Camera in Mid March '05 and it arrived on time and as advertised. After set up with a Time Warner HD Box, I noticed that the colors were "washed out", skin colors were an orange shade. I worked with the color adjustments for a few days, and got no where, so I called Syntax customer service, told the tech what my problem was and he proceded to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the TV but to take a few photos of the set with the picture on and email them to him. A few days later he replied and said after reviewing the photos Syntax could find nothing wrong and I should call my cable people and have them check the signal and cable box, which I did, and everything was fine with the cable system. Another call to Syntax got the same "nothing wrong" reply. Now after six months of adjusting and adjusting and deternining that there is no RED color in this TV, I decided to call Syntax again on 9/23. Same answer, "nothing wrong" and I asked to have a tech sent to my home, because the "First year on-site free service warranty" is still in effect, but I still got a no from Syntax.
At this point I an considering donating this Syntax product to Goodwill and get a decent tax deduction and buy another brand.
My opinion...don't buy this TV! It's not worth the hassle.
Go to the local store and buy something you can return if it doesn't work properly.

Not as good as a tube HDTY
In HD this TV is as good as the Samsung Tube Widescreen HD TV that I had.
But when your watching a non HD program it does not compare to a tube HD TV.
Its just that the tube TV weights a ton is why I bought this LCD HD TV.
