Pack Sony's KV-9PT50 9" Trinitron Portable TV for your next leisure escape. This portable TV, which features a white cabinet, has a Dual-Mode Swivel Bracket so you can place your portable in the perfect position for viewing. A Headphone Output Jack for personal TV enjoyment is also included, so watch what you will and see how Sony entertains you when you travel. This television incorporates the picture tube that made Sony famous: the legendary, patented Trinitron CRT. From the inside out, it's fundamentally different from conventional color picture tubes. You get a picture that's the brighter, more dynamic and more rewarding to watch! To prevent detail from being washed out in the picture highlights - or lost in the murk of picture shadows - Sony developed Dynamic Picture circuitry. It constantly adjusts the picture brightness and contrast - tailoring the signal to the dynamic range of the picture tube and making sure you get all the detail that's coming to you! This TV features 181-channel frequency synthesis tuner that quartz-locks the channels for greater accuracy. Channel Block blocks viewing of up to two channels. Channel Caption enables you to identify Channel 2 as CBS, for example, and Channel 33 as MTV. Sleep Timer lets you fall asleep to television automatically shutting the TV off after 30, 60 or 90 minutes. Other features include Auxiliary Antenna Input, Headphone Output Jack and RM-Y116 Remote Commander Unit.

fantastic picture
the picture on this tv is fabulous, especially if you use it for air reception rather than cable. the color is perfect too, i use it as a standard for judging the color on my other sets.

HOWEVER--as mentioned by other reviewers, the sound volume is not as great. i think the problem is that the sound is not stereo. STILL GREAT for kitchen or bedside use.

Sony KV-9PT50
Great picture until it went black after 2 years. Looked inside and found it cheaply manufactured. The tag inside read Made in Tijuana, Mexico. That old sucking sound coming back to haunt us.
That's all I have to say

Precisely Perfect Picture Fidelity
This is one of the finest `nine-inch' TVs from Sony. All Sony's 9inch TV sets have very sharp and crisp images. Sony's Dynamic Picture Processor and Automatic White Balance increases picture fidelity. However, the fact alone that this is a 9" inch set means that the electron gun has a very short distance to aim and deliver a precise image against the phosphor screen. The closer the electron gun is to the back of the tube's screen almost always guarantees a good picture. This picture is exceptionally crisp and sharp resulting in incredible fidelity.

Old model was good, new model is great.
I owned the prior model, which was a pretty good set but had some nagging flaws (buttons often broke, pushing the wrong button reset the picture to 'baseline', which was awful). This set has flush buttons that are water resistant, the picture is good every time, and even the automatic (when muted) closed-captioning is useful. The FM tuner is gone, but it wasn't that good anyway.

Pinpoint Precision Sharpness
This is one of the best 9" TVs I have ever seen. Sony's 9inch TV sets are incredibly sharp. The reason is the 9" Trinitron picture tube, its Dynamic Picture Processor and Automatic White Balance. The picture is colorfully crisp and sharp. It makes VHS tapes and DVDs look crystal clear and pinpoint precision sharp.
